I like it in the Sport model,

It was probably the wheels and chrome mirrors that's made me throw up in my mouth a lil-bit!

    JK...

I just didn't care for it,

Now I saw a Silver 3rd Gen Limited today and liked it, but again I'm partial to silver.

Not true actually. The Moon Roof when opened, slides into the roof itself, it does not interfere with any rack at all. Of course you will get less airflow though, but there is no way to get the sliding glass to touch the rack, even if you tilt/raise it up instead of fully sliding open.

    Thanks.

It does not sound like the PRO will come with a moon roof for the 2018 anyhow.

True true. I was more speaking to the airflow and wind noise aspects (depending on the type of roof rack you have of course) not to mention blocking the view. Everyone has their own tastes and that's why there are options ;)

Hey, sorry for the late reply, busy week. I'm gonna get the super white "TRD Off Road Double Cab 6' bed V6 4x4 [OF] TRD Premium Off Road Package [TP] Technology Package." So if I understand the '18 specs from this thread, with the packages I listed; a moon roof and leather is mandatory? I can deal with a moon roof but I'm not crazy about having leather seats in AZ. I recon seat covers would fix that problem though..

No kidding! I had a 2nd gen rental a couple years ago for a few days, I loved it but wanted to wait a while longer. I was fortunate enough to be able to pay my '99 off in under three years so I've not had a payment in what, 15 or-so years? I have been saving up for a while now so I can put a pretty big chunk down on the 2018. Although I have put over 5k into it over the past four years; Radiator, Valve cover gaskets and rear cam plugs, power brake booster, Control Arms, ball joints, Rack & Pinion assy.. Etc etc. I can't complain, the truck owes me nothing.

    Just the basics
Makes me miss my white 99 xtracab. So simple. Are you planning on getting white for your 3rd gen?

I went to my local Toyota dealer with the options list and grill shots that were shared earlier in this thread. The salesman and sales manager both agreed that the screenshot look to be legit since the codes all line up properly. They had mentioned that their last allocation for 2017 had already taken place; therefore future allotments would be 2018! With that being said I placed an order for a 2018 DCSB TRD Sport 6MT in the new Midnight Black Metallic. I added the premium and technology package (black/orange leather) and also requested a few other odds and ends with the truck.

After thinking about my decision over the weekend, I called back and changed the color to Inferno. I'm very nervous about the color choice, but from what I've read, everyone that's bought the Inferno has come to love the color.

They said that since this is a rather unique build (6MT, sport and Inferno), it will likely take some time to be allotted, but at least its on order. I'm hoping the new "sport" grill does away with some of the chrome.

Did they give you an estimated time frame of when it should arrive?

He predicted 6-8 weeks with it being a manual transmission. Apparently Toyota doesn't build cars first come first serve, instead they like to group vehicles by batches that all share the same core items (i.e DC SB Manuals without package A,B,C). I'm not sure if this is true or not, but that's what they told me.

Once they have an actual build date in place, I'll update this thread and let you guys know the latest!

So being that the "official" Invoice/MSRP pricing is not out yet (or is it?) did you have to negotiate the final sales price when you placed the order? Or just put down a deposit or.. ? Forgive me, I've never ordered a truck before.

I had to put down a $1,000 deposit to show good faith. The sales manager wouldn't contact the regional manager to inform him of order until that was completed. He said that the 2018 couldn't technically be ordered in his system yet, but the regional sales manager could put it through somehow. This is all beyond me, I just want the dang truck!

Also, on the topic of negotiations. I receive supplier pricing through the company I work for so that kind takes the hassle out of pricing. I believe that gives me invoice pricing and then the particular dealer I went to also has an additional $500 rebate. That should put me somewhere around 1% below invoice. We discussed pricing though and he said he would expect a 600-800 dollar increase with the addition of TSS-P and natural inflation.

I'm 5-11 and there is plenty of head room and I find it to be a very comfortable truck! Cheers

FYI, pricing is different for every dealer. "Getting invoice" isn't the best deal possible.

Then what method can be used to get better info on the true dealer price than getting invoice?
