Don't know how rare it is in other places but there's only 3 in the county I live in. Mine a 4wd dcsb , a 5 lug access cab and a 6 lug prerunner access cab.

    Just the basics
Haven't visited this thread for a long time. I saw a Timberland Mica on the fwy the other day and it was nice. Really wish I had got TM instead of mgm. My 90 Toyota pickup was gray so I went back to it.

Unfortunately for sale but thought I'd contribute one last time.

Needing to get into a Land Cruiser for the interior room

    Love this color.

Picked up a 2009 DCLB timberland mica a few months ago after having to trade in my AC when my daughter was born. Had no clue this color was so rare.

First things first - put a lift on and throw on some new wheels (alloy stock wheels very corroded).

    Thanks, guys!

The first mod I'm planning are upgrading my wheels (see pic below). I saw some posts throughout this thread and seems like most people are in favor of black and the graphite/anthracite(whatever that color is). I'll admit, this thing doesn't see much dirt - besides deer season - and upgrades will mostly be for looks.

I love the FJ special edition anthracite wheels but those seem like theyre impossible to find. I saw some posts about ppl buying the silver ones and repainting them so I've given that some thought. I also really like the look of the Pro Comp 7036 matte black wheels. I also like price tag. My wife stays home now with our daughter so I'm trying to be strategic / budget conscious with my upgrades.

With that in mind, let me ask you guys a question - currently my truck has Cooper Discoverer AT3 265/65/17s on it. That's not a tire size I have seen on here very often (or at all).

If I get 17" pro comp 7036 helldorados and go with the 5100 / 885 + AAL setup from Headstrong, are the tires going to look weird? I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to need to save another $800-$1,000 for tires. I love the look of 285s but these 265/65 are damn near brand new so don't have a good excuse yet to switch.

    Thanks for your help everyone

Heres another option for wheels that came off of an fj that are also darker gray. They're a little easier to find as well and i love the way they look on the timberland micas!

@rjbiii Looking at your build now. Can't believe i'm saying this with having to deal with Pittsburgh traffic, but damn I miss my manual transmission!

This is my first automatic vehicle in many years.

Yeah, im a manual guy all the way! But i think if i ever lived in the city i would definitely consider an auto. Traffic is a serious pain in the ass with a manual.. But other than that, i cant find a reason that id drive an auto. It's all a matter of what you use it for though, so i can see why folks buy them! Its a dying art my friend!:fistbump:

Some sort of charcoal/ anthracite/ graphite is definitely the way to go with timberland mica. I painted my TRD wheels with the duplicolor 'graphite' wheel paint. Looks great with TM, clean and dirty!

Those look good @robertcobyglass. I like those wheels a lot and there’s actually a set on Craigslist right now for $250. But they’re 16” wheels and I’d have to buy new tires, so it may not make sense.

In terms of cleaning up my current wheels and painting, I had two shops tell me they were corroded beyond repair - not sure how truthful that is - which has my thinking of buying new.

I’ve seen a handful of guys clean up and paint the TRD sport wheels and they look good.
