    Steel or alumiinum?

I did aluminum. I purposely hit 'em pretty damn hard on a rock ledge @ Rush to see how they would hold up. Just a scuff mark. 3 piece full skid weighs less than steel IFS only.

The shape gives them incredible structural integrity. I don't see me having a lot of high speed impacts that would challenge that integrity.
Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Thinking about replacing the TRD OR plastic gas tank skid with aluminum next

Best parrt is aluminum doesn't need paint!

    You selling or giving?
I could use another layer over the plain stock

The OR factory skids are alright. Lord knows I've hit mine a ton "learning" to drive off-road and it's just scuffed.

I'm not saying they're anywhere near as good as a nice steel aftermarket set, but they're not as useless as alot of people on this forum will lead you to believe imo. Good pickup for any of you sr or sport guys who don't have a full set yet

I offered to GIVE you the TRD skid that I got from Everett. No mention of cash.

I also have the stock skids that come on ALL 4wd Tacoma's.

I haven't tried to sell EITHER to anyone....

TRD skid goes on with the stock skids still in place. I hit the TRD skid on numerous occasions. No damage. Like Jibbs said, they aren't as weak as some would have you believe. Trick is to learn how NOT to slam into shit.

Everett gave me the TRD skid. I have offered it to others, "paying it forward".....now that I,m done with it

I must have misunderstood when we talked about it, or I passed on it for some reason.

And we know how far you can bend it and still bend it back straight.

A guy in Alabama said he wanted it. He was going to contact me last week. Haven't heard from him again. If he hasn't stepped up by the next time we can cross path's, it's yours.

It has to be tough...It survived several seasons of @beertimecontinuum

@Bluegrass Taco They're aluminum. My truck is 99% daily driver... and so far 1% off-road. I just want protection from the basics. I'm no Baja driver.

I will 100% take that skid if you can hang on to it and bring it to the next meet we are both at. Or if you're close to where I'm passing by on my way to a meet, we can meet up right quick.

But I will definitely take it if it's on the table.

You should get a transmission skid when you can too. I think @presta24 has a front skid as well

Mine will get swapped for a better one soon, but I wanna hang that thing on the wall and admire it's "character" haha

    Scratches, dents, lots of squeaks.
Yup, still got a front laying around. Will trade for a sixer at the next meet if anyone wants it
