My brand new 2017 Tacoma has a major problem with the air conditioning. I noticed that air was not getting as cool as it should and then I noticed a drop of oil on the passenger side on my floor mat. I took it to Toyota of Torrance and they took it in for service. Today I've have been notified that they are changing the thermostatic expansion valve, evaporator coil, and some piping that goes through the firewall. This is a complete bummer. Has anybody had any experiences like this? I really don't like anybody messing with my truck particularly since it has less than 11,000 miles. I don't like the idea of anybody tearing into my Dash. If anybody from Toyota is listening I would love to hear from you

You will be fine. That's what warranty is for. Plus you have plenty left in the event it isn't fixed properly the first time. I'm sure it will be taken care of.

I got the car back from the dealer today and the air conditioning works great but now there's a scratch on my Dash and the side panels are on loose. There is something going on with the radio as well it comes in on all channels with a lot of static. The dealer said they would fix this but it is just a pain in the ass. Whenever somebody pulls apart a brand new dashboard it is never the same.

People don't have the same work ethic as previous generations. Incompetence, laziness, fraud , and greed is the new norm.

Please keep us updated on the follow up for the issues with the staticky radio and if the now loose stuff gets tightened up.

If it makes you feel better, I had my dash pulled on my brand new 2009 civic si when I first had it because of an electrical pop noise in the radio when I unlock my doors. They were looking for a bad ground, they changed wiring harness in the dash. Had scratches on the door sill because they had to pull out the seats. But in the end, they fixed it all up and had me in a rental the whole time. If Honda does that, I'm sure Toyota will.

    Bummer man.

I've pulled apart and reassembled more dashes that I can count for various reasons, but I never had a cosmetic flaw result, or a rattle.

But it was 'mine', so I moved slow and with care/caution.

Hopefully they'll get it all corrected for you.

sorry for the troubles - like to think a new truck is trouble free... I had to replace my fan motor 15k and 10 mths. - not to your extent. at least its now done right.

I took my truck back from the dealer today and I am pleased to announce that they fixed all the blemishes, the electronics work perfectly and my AC runs cold. Could anybody recommend some good seat covers for a 2017 Tacoma

You'd be amazed at the kind of work that can be done to fix scratches in hard interior plastics without replacing components. These guys can damn near match the grain of nearly any panel finish.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I think that question u ask depends on how You intend to use/abuse your truck . Rough and tumble as a work truck --get the Carhartts -- if you mainly use it as a Daily driver and people hauler -- get some of the nicer leather covers

More of a medium beige. Matches the quicksand color of the truck
