Hopefully she will bounce back quickly Scott, at that age they seem to. A lot faster than I do now that is for sure! Good luck.

Congrats GRANDPA! Great picture, your in trouble now. Actually if I understand this correctly your not, the parents are after you spoiler her rotten. I know that I would.

I recall a time where there weren't any around the Northeast or Middle Atlantic States. They are everywhere now and for whatever reason most States have a season on them. Earlier this year 4 dogs were killed up in the cities by Yotes. SSS, shoot shovel and shutup is the common practice here although most will not bother to shovel for a coyote.

All the towns around here have cut down the Ash inside city limits to prevent the spread fo the ash borer, not sure I agree with that. And you can not transport firewood for camping any more it has to be DNR certified if you do. At $400 a cord. Can't believe that people are making money off this, but doesn't surprise me.

Weather guessers say it is only supposed to get up to 85 here today now. Already sweating from working outside and running the dogs. Have 2 chickens that expire today sitting in brine going to throw on the rotisserie this afternoon for a proper Sunday dinner. WTH if I can cook chicken wings on the grill yesterday when it is almost 100 guess I can handle 85.

daytona 2 tossed and back on.jpg

Need to clean house and do laundry today and have to admit the heat does drain the energy out of me quick though. Already wondering if it is time for another shower and a nap.

Nice! They are spooky bastards when calling as you know their sense of smell is unreal. In the 70's in Southern Cali. used to shoot jack rabbits in the rear end with a 22 to get them to call in Yotes. Never was good with a mouth call. Then got one of the first Johnny Steward cassette callers when it came out complete with plastic helmet and spotlight mounted on it. Much preferred that to shooting and wounding Jacks.

In the mid 80's rented a farm house in Wellsboro when I was back home on recruiting duty. Saw a coyote messing around the barn so grabbed a rifle and shot him out the upstairs window. Before the ringing in my ears died down she who was to be wife was beating on me and told me to never fire a gun inside the house again. I tried to explain to her yeah but it was a coyote and could kill the dog, a Ryman English Setter pup at the time. Fell on deaf ears though.

Cool story They just don't understand. Trying to talk mine into riding over to the cabin today and change out card on my cam. Moved it to a new location last Sunday. My angle for convincing her is that we stop @ a small restaurant in Fort Loudon. Homemade ice cream & donuts, galaxiburgers, dilliburgers, shrimp and burger baskets, soups, hoagies...

Weren't the 70s in SoCal great?
Now, if they can track you down, they will probably try to put you in the pokey, where you'll get the ol pokie, just for admitting what you did in the 70s.

Well, good morning folks. Time to get the little chores done today that didn't get done yesterday so I'll be ready for the week. Still looking at upper 90's for the week, but that's still 10-15 degree drop from a couple weeks ago. Lows are hitting mid 60's and up, so it's a good start.

Thinking about throwing a rack of ribs on the grill for tonight.

Just a thought as it used to be an issue charging batteries in a vehicle I do not know if it applies anymore. Check the manual yes the manual for the batteries see if there is a high or low temp charging warning. The older batteries did not like and would be damaged if you charged them when they were below 32 degrees . @Kolunatic , @Martin64 may not be an issue but other places and or batteries it might.
