I'm getting the suspension TSB performed tomorrow. :headbang: I know some of you have had to keep going back to get it redone or something corrected.

-Is there anything I should do before I go that will insure it's done correctly? :notsure:

-Is there anything I should do after they are finished while still at the dealership? Anything I should check to make sure it's done right? Is there anything I should look for, measure, etc.?

Thanks for your help! I'm driving a long way and taking a day off work to get this done and don't want to have to go back. I really can't take another day off to get it redone. :help:

Make sure you have the right part numbers on the shocks and springs. Make sure you get the alignment measurement sheet.

What did you do to get them to approve you to do it? Did you get it done all over e-mail, phone, or did you actually go there and talk to them?

So it comes with new shocks? I thought it was just a leaf spring replacement. Where are the part numbers located? Thanks man! :)

you have the OR, so you will not get new shocks, just 4 leaf pack and alignment.

PM me and I'll tell you how I am getting it done.

I'm trying to stay on topic here...which is what should I do to make sure it is done right the first time as I just can't go back.

    Thanks for all the help!

Make sure the shackle bolts are in right and not rubbing the spring hanger.

SO just check the part numbers and the get an alignment sheet?

Does anyone have a copy of an alignment sheet done correctly so I can match it with the one they give me?

    Thanks! :D

Like the new avatar. Is that the new ride?

To OP. +1 on matching the part numbers on the latest revision of the TSB to the numbers on the springs. If you are getting shocks, ensure you have the correct ones. I think an alignment is included. So make sure you drive straight as an arrow when you leave. If not, turn the Taco right around. Also, make sure your rear brakes don't squeak when you get the truck back. Mine did and I never noticed until I pulled into my driveway. Also, before you drop your truck off go around with a keen eye. Do the same BEFORE you even get in. Look for damages.

And last but not least, take a look in your rear wheel wells and ensure everything looks bolted and secure. If all is good, enjoy the new ride and thank Toyota for a freebie.

In the TSB, what does the column VSD mean? Do I have a JU62N???? I have no idea. Once I know which one is mine I can hopefully match the numbers up on the TSB to the alignment printout they gave me.

just make sure the work is actually done. The first time I brought my truck in, they didn't do a damn thing to it.

I'm on my way to the dealership now. I'm going to log on to TW while I wait and see if there's other answers to this. Thanks again!

Anything else I should check? When yall say check the part numbers do you mean check them on the receipt I get or actually read the numbers off the leaf springs?

    :)

When the TSB is completed, the new leaf springs should have a white sticker on the very top of them that has the part numbers on it. It will be about 2" wide and about 3" long. You can easily see it over the tire through the fenderwell. good luck!

The VDS is part of the VIN number. You should find the first five spots of your VIN in that VDS list somewhere.

You may or may not get new shocks- Lots of folks (including TRD owners) have reported new shocks (Black body instead of the Yellow Body/Blue boot TRDs) so that's why I say check the part numbers. Using the latest version of the TSB is the way to go.

    Good luck!!
