Put the rear on jackstands, put it in gear and let the tires spin and see what wobbles.

    Update:

    1. Tires are balanced, wheels aligned, shocks and leafs checked over and torqued.

    2. Test drive with owner of dealership and wobble still apparent. He applied light brakes along with light gas this exaggerated the wobble to the point that the truck shuddered like crazy while barely moving - maybe 8 MPH. Maybe the transmission.

    3. Dealership contacting Toyota for direction on how to proceed with problem.

So far, everybody is handling this in an upright and honorable way.

My '09 and '10 has had a minor shimmy since new. Not nearly as bad as you describe though. From 5mphish to 20ish. I just assumed it was typical U-Joint vibration. Any time the height of a vehicle is changed, the driveline alignment can become an issue. A standard trans is slightly more susceptible to this.

Almost sounds like a bent rim.

    Final Words for Now:

Dealer tried TSB Auto Trans Mount: No Effect, other than less 1800-2100 RPM "buzz" (I also started using higher octane gas which helps in this regard).
    Carrier Bearing Shim: No Effect
Put Stock 3 Leaf Pack Back on: Back to Normal.

So, it was excessive axle wrap w/ the TSB Leafs which are actually less stiff with no weight in the back. I'll get some Deavers custom fitted to solve both problems, if possible. Great truck otherwise.

Thanks for the update! Interesting stuff. First I have heard of a problem with the spring TSB. Usually people rave. Please come back on and let us know how the Deavers work out for you.

Thanks again. Rep for actually updating this issue. So many people let these types of threads die with no resolution.

My old jeep did that death wobble crab before too. The front steering shock went out.

Sounds like the problem on your toy might possibly be the driveshaft? I could be wrong though.

    This is intresting.
I wonder if the leaf springs (TSB ones) were the same exact size. If one of them was slightly different, it would cause the driveshaft to operate at a different angle. You would have noticed a slight different in ride height in the rear. Somthing is up with this. There is more to this story then the dealership is giving you.
