They're for cooling purposes. A larger (2.5") shock body will hold a lot more volume and cool faster than a 2.0 resi from all the things I've read on desert and off-road forums. But as was stated if the worst you're going to hit is some washboard then maybe big name suspension components aren't necessary. For the money though I'd go 2.5" non resi Kings over $8-900" 2.0 eibachs with reservoirs for what I like to do in my part of the country.

Busy day today. So my bushings were shot on the LCAs. Replaced them with some poly bushings. What a pain in the ass. I don't want to do that ever again. Also replaced the lower ball joints. And the most fun part today, I put in my new ECGS clamshell. Some 5.29s and an ARB. :burnrubber: Tomorrow I will put in the matching rear 5.29s and ARB.

No way. Tacomas never came with leather/vinyl upholstery like that - only fabric. It looks like they're Tacoma Limited seats due to the larger bolstered sides and someone had them re-upholstered at one point. I can tell they're the original Tacoma seats because of the plastic shields on the side.

Hell they might even be 4Runner seats - I know they made those in leather.

Don't do it! That's the route I was going to go before I pm' d a few well known vendors on here and got kings for cheaper than toytec is selling just the coilovers. I think if I priced out the rest of that kit -aal, rear boss shocks, cheapo bpv bracket, and a diff drop- the king setup would still come out cheaper.

Its 2am and I just left my dorm to do this. It worked though. Instructions are further down on exactly what to do. Edit: Only works up to 2000 model year. (Cable controlled throttle body)

How much of a pita were they? Did you burn the old ones out or bottle jack method? Or?

I got the whiteline bushing kit sitting in my garage right now

You can get them cheaper than that from a couple vendors if you pm them. The boss 2.0 coilovers alone come out to $1005.44 with shipping and the tacomaworld discount and the whole kit comes out to $1295.41 shipped (44 bucks to ship and I live ten minutes away) I got my kings shipped for under $950 and if you order the rest of the parts from the Boss kit it comes out to $344 shipped. So it's actually a couple bucks cheaper to get the kings and then buy the rest of the parts separately either from toytec or just go à la carte and make your own kit.

    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.

I've made my kings fade easily. 2.5s are not overkill at all on stock suspension.

I agree with others. For the price get something better built.

Well good to know, there are many many unknowns about this trucks previous life. The first owner did all the modifications and the second owner had no clue what was done, now I'm here trying to figure it all out.

They are being held together with duct tape under the cover. The passenger side bottom portion as well. I wish I could find another set because I really like them aside from the duct tape.

Baby got new shoes! DuraTracs!!IMG_0668.jpg IMG_0666.jpg Going to save them for a few weeks, and finish wearing out my old set of Wild Countries, before I really need them for mud and snow season.

Baby also got new bling.IMG_0667.jpg Mounted up my summer treads on these, so won't be looking pretty until spring. Got what I think was a good buy on them, brand new take-offs, with centers and lugs for $450 to my door.

    Stuff. Also things.
    Wired a few switches :p

Today I need to wire up the e-locker to the new switch and get the air locker (finally) plumbed and wired as well.

I wanted to get the switches made up first so that I can slowly start wiring relays and accessories as time allows.

It was a big pain and time consuming. Was able to knock off one side and with how bad mine were no press needed to get them out. A lot of burning and scraping to get all the rubber out. We made a contraption to then press them back together in a vise.
