They've got a couple of those at playgrounds around me, but they also have the regular kid and toddler swings. There's a small sign nearby that says that they're for the use of kids who can't normally use swings. The last kid I saw using one had his wheelchair parked next to it. I tried it out but I think it's too much work for most kids because their legs hit... it's really meant for someone to push.

 

Except they replaced all of the regular swings with them. One of the playgrounds had a older disabled persons swing, it was rubber and metal. Looked like a medieval torture swing, or a bdsm fetish swing.

 

I remember those they were fun.

When I was the age to be swinging in something like that, my buddies would be pushing each other to see how high we could go. Chances are that swing would be more likely to get us hurt than the old fashioned kind. And we managed to break a couple of bones and skin a thousand knees.

 

They’re not a choking hazard if you teach your kids to chew well.
