I think that is a dealer problem. My truck was spotless when I got it back, of course, it rained on the way home, and then every day for the next week. I have washed it since, and it dose not look like it sat outside for 79 days, so at least Toyota can lay down a durable paint job. I would have told the dealer to either wash it or give me the money to wash it!

I had the same thing happen. Mine was in for 30 days or so. Covered in something once I got it back this morning. Spent most of the afternoon using clay bar and waxing it up. That was a pain too.

Got my truck back today guys.

    And it’s been a process.

After having the dealership shrug their shoulders as to why the recall was taking so long and contacting toyota and getting a “we’re sorry” and nothing done. I decided to contact the CEO.

Which led to a call from my dealership the next day saying “uhhh so uhhh we heard you contacted toyota, it turns out I talked with my technician and we can get the part for you tommorow.”

picked up the truck today. It was covered with 3months of dirt and dust. A lot of the black plastic is faded but I’ve been fighting with Toyota for the last couple weeks that I’m exhausted to even make a big deal out of that.
I would think they would at least wash my truck after all the trouble but what the toyota lady at the dealership told me was

“Oh, you only didn’t have you vehicle for 3months? You’re one of the lucky ones. The people have corollas are on a rental for over a year because of the airbag recall. So 3 months is very little wait time”

It felt foreign getting in my truck after putting 6k miles on the rav 4 rental I felt so strange getting in my truck. I almost got used to the little damn rav4 but so excited to have my truck back I really hope you guys make your voice heard and get your trucks back.

I emailed the CEO of Toyota as well. Hoping for a similar result. I'm going to call our other dealership up in Cleveland TN and see if they have parts. This is getting ridiculous...

Seems like California and southwest have most of waiting list problems , took mine in last month for recall and 5,000 mile service rear was fine no leaks but bolts had to be retorqed fluid level was good as well . Salesmanger said if my rear was bad they have replacements in stock. Also put a extension on my extended warrenty im covered to to 175,000 miles now so not really worried about it

I have seen this guy in 3 or 4 videos--he may hold a degree in engineering, and maybe even manages the Tacoma design group, but the is not a practicing engineer and definitely not the chief design engineer.

Being a mechanical engineer (MIT MSME '71), as were my father and both grandfathers; and knowing a hundred engineers by first name, and acquainted with hundreds more--my feeling is he does not talk like an engineer. He talks like a PR person; with some engineering knowledge that is now buried somewhere in his senior management career...

Good luck guys. My truck was covered in dirt and it sprinkled here and spotted the dirt pretty bad. I thought they were pissed, and I figured I deserved the dirty truck for being a hassle. Sorry to hear it's all of you. To be fair, since mine was so dirty I'm kinda glad they didn't wash it.

And no amount of pleading got me any concession from Toyota. Some got parts credits. Not me. But I was only out 2 weeks so...

Call the vendor and ask if it's in stock.

As to the dealer accepting it, that is a coin toss--some are reasonable, many are complete ass-holes...

I'm begging to believe my dealer are a bunch of complete ass holes. I'm going to be even more angry if it isn't done next week. I'm calling the customer relations person tomorrow to discuss the part.

As Jake on here told me:
Call your Toyota regional office and tell them you want to speak to the field representative for what ever dealer your truck is at....

This guy at regional wanted to know how I got the #. I wanted to say Jake from TW but I didn't want to confuse Toyota more than they already are.

    Good luck brother!

Does anyone else have a leaking rear diff on a TRD off-road? I've been waiting on parts for over a month now, even though I'm not on the official recall list.
