I'm going to start by saying I've had 3 Tacoma's with in the last year a 2014 Baja ,a 2017 TRD off road,a 2017 TRD Sport 4x4 I've drove them all for months don't get me wrong I loved each and every one of them but I did start to here some rear end noise and funny shifting and hesitation on acceleration on both of my 2017's I wanted to stick with Toyota but I think that Toyota has some catching up to do I have own chevy and GMC TRUCKS for over 30 years and wanted to give Toyota a try this is just my opinion after driving all of them for awhile so I traded in my 2017 sport in for a 2017 Colorado Z 71 after test driving it for 2 weeks after major comparison I found the Colorado in my opinion to be ahead in almost all categories with the power seats that adjusted up and down and into any position, the 3.6 vvt motor delivering 308 HP the 8 speed transmission that shifts very smoothly the 4 wheel disk brakes the 342 rear end the 7,000 pound towing capacity the automatic locking rear climate control as well as apple car play and Bose sound system the first thing I did do on the Colorado is remove that stupid air damn for more ground clearance it also comes with Goodyear wranglers on 17 inch wheels and I did get zero percent financed with the same payment with a year less to pay on the truck I really do enjoy reading all you threads my options is that Toyota has some quality control issues to fix and a little catching up to do but I really do like the looks of the new 3rd gen's I just think there is issues that Toyota needs to address before others do the same and switch to the ranger or Colorado or dodge etc.

I liked the motor in the Canyon I test drove.
    That was about it.

Why do you feel like you need to justify a purchase by going onto a forum for a truck that you dont own anymore and letting people who don’t give a damn know that you moved on? We won’t miss you.

    I like the canyon....

I can't buy GM though. The brand lost my loyalty a long time ago, and I am never coming back.

At the end of the day, the resale value for Tacomas is still king, despite all the bashing from Consumer Reports, bloggers, etc....
