Yakima Q Towers on 2016 Tacoma

So I just bought my first Tacoma and absolutely love it. The only issue that I've ran into is trying to figure out if my Yakima Rack Q Tower set up is going to work on it. I haven't been able to find anything online that tells me which Q clips will work on a 2016 Tacoma. I just don't want to buy a new tower system if I don't need it.

 

I just put yakima towers/bars on my 2016 access cab. Purchased through auto anything, you just enter your specs and they configure the package to your particular truck. Got all my racks 20% off with a coupon code which was nice. Would definitely recommend.

 

Thanks! I have the Q Tower system from my last truck, just can't find anything that tells me for sure that the Q Towers won't work on a 16 Tacoma. I just dont want to buy a whole new tower system unless I know that they don't make a Q Clip for mine.

 

oh my bad I missed that point in your original post. http://fitlookup.yakima.com/ check that link out. Should give you the part numbers for the appropriate clips.

 

Yakima has a newer tower (BaseLine) which will work. They may not make a clip for the Q towers since it is an older rack and a newer truck.

 

That's pretty much what I'm leaning towards too. Just trying to get around buying a new tower set.

 

@My2016Taco - what did you decide? I'm in the exact same situation trying to find Q clips for my old Yakima system. I've got towers for rain gutters and factory rails, but not for the door rail. All I need are clips for the door rail!!! Thanks.

 

Just doing a little research on Q tower clips for a 3rd gen taco. Did you ever figure out which clips would fit your truck? A friend is letting me borrow his Q towers and crossbars to mount a paddle board, and he says all I need are the clips. Is there a way to use his Q tower rack for my 2019 taco? Thanks for any information you can give me.
