I appreciate the interest @Jibbs and @Sandytaco14 but nobody has experience with tall and skinnys and wheel spacers?

Well my wheels are 4.25 or 4.5 b.s.? No rubbing here. With 1.25" wheel spacers I would imagine you'd start running into the pinch weld more than the cab mount.

As soon as I get back from California, pulling the trigger on BFG 255 85 16!! Looking at best place to buy............. I thought I read somewhere Discount would give you money towards new ones when you traded in your tires. I have the stock Goodyear Kevlar with 2000 miles?

For you guys running the DC extreme country's, what tire pressure are you running? I just received mine today and plan to install them this weekend.

I found this. I saw the same info on another post here but am having trouble finding it. 16" rims appear to be the same size.

It appears to only be 5 mm offset difference, that doesn't seem to be enough to get a 33in wheel away from the UCA.

My interpretation is the SR5 and TRD Offroad rims are the same size.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wheel-offset-for-stock-2016-offroad.467847/

    245/75-16 SR5 stock tire rim is 7Jx16 ET25
265/70-16 TRD Offroad tire rim is 7Jx16 ET25

    both have +25mm offset.

Is anyone on here running wheel spacers on stock rims and suspension? Any rubbing issues with the spacers? What size spacer are you running? Im thinking of keeping the stock wheels for a while and installing a spacer to give it a wider stance.

On this tall and skinny concept, what about 255/75/17's? Will they work with stock suspension?

That's V8 torque for you. And useable torque, as it's low in the rpm range. The Taco's torque peak is ridiculously high in the rpm range.

No struggle in 4wd lo. Stock I've taken my taco more places than most with a 2" lift. Just playing devil's advocate since those in favor of 3rd gen dont seem represented. My main usage is for off trail wheeling to water bodies that see less than 30 vehicles a year in New England mountains

Yep, because those are 1" smaller diameter. The equivalent to 255/85r16 is 255/80r17.

Like this idea because tire weight is close to stock and tires are much less expensive. Anybody with this set-up?
