I actually dont think it is that strange. When you consider a lot of people started with either first gens or later that got KILLER mpg's, like, almost 30 mpg's and are now in second gens and third gens that get around 18-22 mpgs....

Couple that with Ford producing FULL SIZE trucks that get similar....I think people start to question the validity of the mpg's in a small truck. They probably also start to question their purchase.

Honestly, if I were able to afford a newer vehicle, it would be an F150. The 5.0 v8 gets around 18-20 mpgs, the cab is fucking massive. I dont give a shit about aluminum body panels....make em out of plastic for all I care, that way it doesnt rust away before its paid off.

Toyota made its name on gas sipping engines wrapped with shitty steel, put together well enough to last 200k-500k miles. They've had to move away from that due to market changes, and they haven't figured out how to get good mpg's out of a v6. Nobody has really.

I think Toyota should do away with the v6, and shoehorn that 4.7 iForce v8 in a Tacoma along with offering the I4. Surely the 4.7 v8 would get similar mileage in a much lighter truck than the Tundra....I would think it would be damn near identical.

If I had that 4.7 in my Tacoma I'd have to rotate my tires every 1000 miles.

HAHAHA. So THAT's why the anemic new v6 is such a hit. Not having to rotate tires.....lol.

Seriously, I would totally get a dcsb Tacoma with a v8. That 4.7l is indestructible! If you dont care about mpg's, then at least have the power and reliability!

    Oof, a TRD Pro, 4.7l v8, dcsb (or lb...either one), with supercharger....4x4 getting 19-25 mpg's and a manual transmission....

    Where's my lotion and kleenex.

What's up Chad! Man I got some exciting news. I'm finally ordering my suspension kit tonight!!! Its been long, long overdue considering i'm still on stock suspension at 150,000 miles.

I'm getting a quote for install tomorrow but anybody locally (in Austin Area) do installs on the side? I was already quoted around 7 or so hours of labor @ 115.0.00/hr but they want to look at my truck before finalizing price. I work every other weekend but if there is somebody who does I'd much rather pay them and possibly be apart of the install. I'm ordering a complete Old Man Emu Kit with Dakar Leaf's. Coils will be an 885x, shocks will be the 90021 (Soft Ride) and I'll be ordering UCA's.

Let me know if you know somebody in the Austin Area that could possibly help! Hope all is good man!

DUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!! Congrats brother, long time coming.

@Texoma is THE go to man around these parts

EDIT: I would consider using 5100 shocks instead of the OMEs

Ever heard of "over speed bump goes clank" thread?

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Get the extended rear brake lines if you haven't already.
