There's a ton of threads about knocking/clunking sounds from the front end, but my truck has a jingling noise from the front end. It's most prominent on city street driving, while going over small bumps/rough surfaces.

    Possible sources I've eliminated:

    - My brake pads are firmly attached to the calipers (double springs/clips, and the pads are "glued" to the pistons with CRC Disc Brake Quiet)

    - The chain for my spare is zip tied out of the way

    - All the heat shields are firmly attached and not rubbing/touching anything

    - It does it whether the truck is in or out of 4 wheel drive

    - All of my suspension components are in good condition with no excessive play/movement

Any ideas what I could be missing?

have you checked your grill? When I pulled mine off I broke a tab and from that point on hitting small bumps I could slightly hear the grill knock around.

Is there a suspicious red light glowing in the grill too?

    AVS, but yes.

The noise is definitely not wind noise though, and it's a metallic jingle from under the truck.

had a similar noise on my truck a few years back it sounded like there was a bag of washers jingling around when I went over small bumps, ended up being the sway bar bushings.

Hey sorry for bringing back an old post. You ever find out what was causing this? Have the exact same issue on my 05’ Tacoma with a 3” lift. Brand new LCA’s and new UCA’s.

It went away on its own after a couple months. No idea what it was.

@Capt Obvious @LukaszK I had this issue for about 2 years of owning my truck now, drives me crazy but still cannot pinpoint the issue... I might try spraying/lubing the swaybar bushings up somehow without taking them off/apart to see if my issue is the same as the one potential solution mentioned in this thread lol. I too have checked about everything else.

On V6 Tacomas, the cats are supported with a vertical bracket at the cat/header flange. This can rust out in a way that is difficult/impossible to see with just an eyeball and a flashlight. Give your cat a tug downwards and see if it moves - if so, the jingle/buzz you're hearing could very well be the cat vibrating against the bracket ever so slightly. Eventually this support and/or the flange can rust out far enough to leave a gap which makes the noise magically go away.
