    What do you mean "jerking"??

Do they lock up and un-lock as you are coming to a stop, or does the truck just vibrate (feel it through the brake pedal and steering wheel) when you apply the brakes? or something else?

They vibrate is the best way to describe it yes. They used to lock up then unlock but I was sold the wrong brakes the first time I did them but I got the right ones this time and they are okay but now they vibrate like you said.

Although what you describe is usually due to front rotor runout or uneven pad material deposits (can be alleviated with machining but replacement is almost as cheap) my son's recent brake issue was due to out of round rear drums. The vehicle lurched and surged upon stopping instead of the typical steering wheel vibration at high speed (it had a little of this as well so all 4 corners were replaced). Stops like a dream now. But you NEED to clean the mating surfaces of the rotors/drums to hubs of any rust or debris that might prevent a perfect seat or you will soon have the same issues crop up.

Did you just get brake pads or rotors too?

The most common problem here is a warped rotor, but there are other things too.

A few things I would check:
It sounds like you did your own work, so make sure the surface where the rotor sits on the hub is perfectly clean (rotor and hub face). If there's even a small amount of dirt or grime in there, the rotor will NOT sit flat and it will wiggle and shake when you brake. If you are running old rotors, either get them machined flat, or just get new ones (decent ones don't cost that much more than a machine job). When you have your calipers off, check them over real good. Clean them up with some brake cleaner and see if you can see any signs that the pistons might be sticking, oil leaking, etc...

Warped rotors are very common on these trucks. Don't have them resurfaced. They'll be too thin and they'll warp again very quickly. Just get new ones. Brembos are cheap and pretty good.
