Check it, all looked good. Started re-installing parts.

Cranked the engine to build up oil pressure and get oil where it hasn't been, put efi relay back in.

Started the engine, it idled. AWESOME.

Shut off and started re-installing everything so I can bleed the coolant. Was fine until I revved it a little and heard a ticking sound coming from the driver side head.

Your trip sounds a lot like my weekend... snow, and then mud, repeat.

But I didn't have to winch anyone and I have all my brakes, fairly certain anyway.

Looks like a good time.

Hang on a minute! Looks like it's close - the cams look a little early and the crank looks a little late from those angles. That can be deceiving from angles other than dead on which I know you probably can't do.
    @mechanicjon

Was it an oem belt that has arrows pointing away from the engine? I put mine on backwards (arrows pointing at the engine) and was off one tooth until I flipped it with them pointing out. When it was off one tooth it was pretty obvious from the cam markers even though the belt marks made it super easy to tell it was wrong.

    Thanks, man!

Honestly, most of the stuff that I'll be switching is pretty low current. But I'll still use relays for all of it if I can.

I'm going to try to fab a plate that goes across the top of the battery and over the stock fuse box. It'll house a Blue Sea fuse block and as many relays as I can fit.

I'm fairly certain that I can find a slick way to make it easy to get to the stock fuse block on the rare occasions when there's a need for that. If it doesn't work, I'll only use relays for the higher amp loads. I'll find out soon!
I have flares and this still happens...

Ready to see how that comes out - may steal some ideas from you on that one ;)

I had no flares and an lt kit on my 2nd gen - I got to watch upside down rain outside my windows when I drove in any amount of precipitation lol

Well, we'll see if I can pull it off. I may be completely full of shit!

And I know exactly what you mean! There's a certain low speed where the tires throw water UP when you're driving thru rain. Hella rooster tails, too!

Mud is terrible, I've washed my truck 2 times in the past 3 days just to try and keep on top of it, halfed ass washes though.

I probably have an inch of mud covering most of my bed, no joke.

My 1050's stick put like 1.5" without fender flares.... I can't imagine running 1250's or something... life would be over for me... oh well I guess #stancelife isn't the life for me.
