I have a 2002 dcab with bilstien 5100 all around. Just installed the all pro expo springs pack and the rake is really bad. My truck is significantly tall in the rear. I have the 5100 on the top notch at 2.5. Was wondering if puting toytec coils up front would work to level my truck. Thanks for the input.

Do you constantly carry a heavy load in the back? If not, I think you've got the wrong springs. The "Expo" leafs are for heavy loaded applications. According to all pro's website, the expos should give you 4" on an unloaded Tacoma. In which case nothing short of LT or spindles in the front will make your truck level.

My truck is bare in the back besides a plastic bed liner. Do you think a 3.5 in coilover lift would get me near level. And they make spindles that add lift?

If you crank coilovers all the way up you MIGHT be level, but it'll ride like shit. My suggestion would be to call up All Pro, tell em your predicament, and see if they'll let you send back the expos and get the standard leafs. Or if you've got the cash liquid now you can just buy the correct springs for your application and once they're installed sell your expos.
Edit: if you're 2wd Solo Motorsports makes a spindle that I think will give you 4" in the front, but you have to have uniball upper arms to run their spindles IIRC.

A little lift and a little armor
You installed springs that are made for hundreds of pounds of constant weight in the bed WHILE still providing lift. Whether or not you level it out, its going to be a rough ride from here on out unless you plan to be adding weight on your ass end. Yes, if you're 2wd you could get lift spindles to "level it out".

Why did you get those springs in the first place?

So pretty much I'm screwed. They won't take it back since it's been installed. I got them because once in a while I haul about 800 pounds around in with a trailer.

Pretty much... if you still have your stock leafs you can install them until you sell the expos then pick up the proper springs.

I like the springs. Im just gonna have to figure a way to make the end heavier and lift front enough to level it. Maybe a tool box and new bumper migjt get the job done. :fingerscrossed:

Exactly, put a cool heavy duty steel bumper on the rear, maybe even a shell, RTT etc. just keep adding mods until it squats down to your liking. :)

There ya go... what springs are you running on the 5100s up front? If you've got the factory springs, you can swap out a pair of OME springs (or Eibach but I'm not sure they still make em) to get some more height out of the 5100s.

Would I need to run a new UCA if I where to put the Eibach spring?

Yes you would. The Eibach coils are a 3" coil lift spring and that's with the 5100's on the bottom setting. Anything over 2.5 - 3" of lift. You need aftermarket UCA's. It helps with your alignment. That way you'll get the numbers you need.

I initially bought and installed expos, however with little weight in the rear, it not only rode stiff as shit but also with alot of rake as describing. I had 5100's and eibachs and it was still real bad. I ended up pulling two leafs, I think it was the smallest, and third from the smallest. This evened it out and made it ride much better with less rake. I have now added a few hundred pounds of truck along with those removed leafs, and even with 400lbs of camping stuff this weekend, it rode like butter.

Do you think it would mess up the rear shocks I have on it now being that high or any of the rear brake lines etc..
And I might have to do that. But I'm thinking of buying the king coilover with 3.5 in lift. See if that makes it look level or at least close to level. What do you thinkm

As others said, the expo packs are designed for heavy loads. Swing away bumper, roof top tent, tools, etc... it will *always* sit high until you weight it down.

Cranking up the front to match the rear will just make the whole thing ride like crap, because now you’re just making the front too stiff.

The more weight you put back there the worse your mileage gets, the worse it handles, the harder your brakes have to work, etc... so if you are contemplating putting weight in the bed just because you have expos back there, don’t do it. Sell them and get the proper springs.

If, on the other hand, you’re jumping on the overlander bandwagon and were planning to get a tent and a bunch of expedition gear anyway, then do that.

Yeah, it’s all a compromise. You either deal with a really stiff ride *most* of the time just so you can handle some junk in the bed, or have a good ride most of the time, but bottom out the springs whenyou carry the loads.

Another option, though, is standard duty springs and air bags. Adjust he air pressure for the weight you have back there.

This is a good option and it works for me: occasional load + pull small trailer and I just throw a few pounds of air in the bags when needed. When empty and airbags down to the minimum, my ride is level and ride is great.
