Took the dog up Green Ridge, my favorite trail here in the North.

Visited the memorial, He gets fresh flowers every year it seems and the unopened Blue Moon is original as far as I can tell, it gets a little more faded each year. How it doesn't freeze and burst is a mystery to me.

    Stopped for lunch.

And ended the day by driving thru that sinkhole at the end. Prolly the last time I go thru it, damn near ended the life of the truck. It's gotten super soft and mucky at the bottom, I had to floor it and was about to shit myself as it started to actually sink instead of pulling forward. Thought for sure I was gonna get my feet wet and be pulling plugs.

    Fully submerged the front end.

mud and water in the air box.

Just as I suspected, that hole has been rutted out by bigger boys with swampers or tractor wheels, the knobby tread pattern was everywhere. I would have done the same thing if I had still been driving that Scout. The bypass has been firmly established at this point, it's actually dry ground now, so maybe it'll just be that way. Otherwise the entire area will be closed off from the mudders making bigger holes.

Have you had any chunking from your maxxs yet? I'm in need of 2 new ones soon and I'm debating if I should try sipping them or not.

Nah, I've never ever regretted siping any set of tires I've ran. They just run so much smoother, wear even, and the traction is greatly improved on all surfaces.

Did you manage to get those 34's to clear without tubbing or do you still rub in places?

    Hey Brett,
Thanks for the cool thread. Nice truck you've developed. Loves me some BestGen!

I'm curious what problem(s) you were trying to solve with the LSPV delete.
I've got a bit of a weak braking situation on my truck. It stops, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't lock them up in a panic braking situation. Ok it's an 04 so it has abs, but I think you know what a mean.

In the rare panic stop attempt, the brake pedal feels a bit like stepping onto a shock absorber. It's going down slow and slushy, like thick mud, not like overboosted 70s American car power brakes, if that makes sense.

So far I checked the front pads, plenty of material left, and I've flushed the fluid. Flushed a 32 oz bottle thru, till it ran clear from each wheel. Didn't flush the LSPV tho, nor did I do anything about the abs. I need to pop off the drums next and see what's in there for pads, and check the wear. I'm just coming up on 141k so hopefully the drums are fine still.

Finally, it seems like I have to pull the e brake out a long way to park, and that definitely won't lock the rears, so maybe that's part of the problem?

    Thanks!
    Beez

    Thanks! I appreciate that.
Sounds like if your e-brake handle has to be pulled out that far that the rears may not be adjusted correctly. I would open them up and take a look, they can be manually adjusted from the backing plate as well.
The Factory LSPV on mine was no longer working , no fluid was going to the rears.
The valve allowed that to be adjusted manually and has been working great. Prolly one of the better mods out there that actually solves a problem without creating more.

    Thanks man,
So, I thought the rears were self adjusting...

they are, when they actually work.
The self adjust takes place each time you pull the E-Brake handle. Driving in reverse, and pumping the brakes will do the same thing.
You're adjusters themselves may be frozen, or the E-brake cable may not be traveling it's full travel too.
