    On a lighter note:
I have zero faults/codes, dont suspect any engine damage, suspect all the codes i had, starting with misfires, was the Ecu trying to right itself over several starting cycles after the water got in there. Dodged a bullet. Will have a new submarine mod soon but still no snorkle.

Dirt, like powdered graphite, acts like lube.
    Soap is not.

It is exactly that I bet. Even though I didn't really wash them (they are still brown) they got a lot more wet during cleaning than in the one mud pit that sprayed them.

Oh well. Sealed Gates ones are in the mail.

Hmm. Maybe a battery too. Voltage at the battery at idle is 11.5V. It seems pretty RPM dependant on my Ultragauge too. If RPMs drop it might read 10.98V ect.

I did the screwdriver-to-the-ear test on the running alternator and while it doesn't sound great, I think it isn't really that noisy. I still think my new supercharger sound is the idlers.

If the alternator was dead I wouldn't have made it to work on this 11y/o battery right?

Edit: from what I am reading it might be the alt

Yeah it would make sense it isn't a total coincidence.

The low batt voltage might be because the alt is dying. I should replace it before I kill the batt too

Yeah factory battery. Thing is a beast *knock on wood*.

I ordered the Tacoma 130A. FJ only has the 100A. PLUS it was like $30 less. If I make it home later and install it, only for it to not solve it, that old battery can be next. Might as well.

Now, you'll never go off road with us again

Next time, I'll be sure to find more narrow and deeper mud holes that you can't drive around.
