I thought that might be the case--far too many online vendors list items they do not have in stock--it's rather annoying...

So I'm driving to work in the loner RAV4 Hybrid that I've had for over a month now, and THE DAMN HEAD UNIT KEEPS DYING. What is going on with Toyota quality anymore? I can't even listen to the radio without having to reboot the damn thing.

These words were spoken to me when I was a child by someone who really had a handle on "survival".

Thanks to you both for a blast from the past, and now that I am old af, I can corroborate this as 100% a "sound philosophy".

Sounds like the common Entune issue - apparently rain in the forecast on the weather app crashes it. They can update the firmware at the dealership ... maybe you can get a loaner for your loaner while your loaner is in for service?

Maybe this has been discussed and I missed this but don't most states have some sort of lemon law where if they're taking longer than 30 days to fix, it would quality for it? Its ridiculous how long Toyota is making people wait for this over a leak, but it sounds even more ridiculous for a company as large as Toyota having difficulty sourcing bolts and a gasket past 1-2 weeks.

Thus has been covered countless times but here is the gist of it:

Every state has different lemon laws and different reasoning to reach that bar.

It seems SoCal and southwest have a lot longer wait than most other places in the US. That means the dealer is more of the issue than Toyota is. The dealer, contrary to popular belief, is NOT Toyota.

I thought the lemon law in Wisconsin was if they can't repair the issue after 3 times.

Day #8 in the books. Regional office called again today and told me the differential is innat myvdealer and now just waiting on gasket to arrive. lol. So after I received the regional call I called the service manager at my dealer. He wasn't in again. So the service advisor informed me on the computer that my vehicle is in for service and it's awaiting parts. I told her I have over 1,000 miles so far and I will be working out of state for the next 6 days driving approximately 6,000 miles rd trip. If my trucks not ready Wednesday Am I'm off to Seattle till Monday with the dealer loaner.

This might get some attention. When I got the call mine was ready it was 530. Told them I couldn’t come in until the next day (Friday) or maybe Sat. They told me they needed to have the loaner back the next day, even if I didn’t pick up my truck. One way urgency was kinda funny.

Laws are created by lobbyists and politicians. Lobbyists are paid by corporations and special interest groups, and well over 75% of politicians are lawyers.

So in whose interest do you think these laws are created?

Hint; it's not those of the ordinary working man...

My truck took 3 months. So I’d say yeah. Pretty ridiculous wait for a truck most people are making payment on.

I am sure some of this has been covered already, but what are you most recent guys that are getting your truck back receiving (from Toyota) in order to make things better?

I have heard some people getting $500, or $750 towards Toyota services and parts... Is anyone requesting Toyota to pay up for their time lost? or their monthly payment on the truck they haven't had for over a month? Is anyone going through with lemon law and receiving buyback?

My 2017 OR MT has been in the shop 30 days today waiting for a rear diff.. the diff is in the ship now waiting for gasket. I'm planning on using the lemon law option as a tactic to negotiate what I want to make things right. Any advice helps.

Day 9 at the dealership after 6 months of dealers telling me they hear nothing, you need to wait for the recall, it's the exhaust resonating, tire noise, my windows are down, it's just wind , to sorry we don't give loaner cars but we rent them. I have wrote 2 emails a day to the CO of Toyota, called my dealer 3 times per day , left 2-3 messages per day for the service manager. Talked 4 times to the dealership customer service. Nothing worked. Then I got the # for the Toyota regional office. Mine is the Chicago region office. He called me back several times and also notified me the parts were issued and released for repairs. All parts are at the dealer and he said my dealer will be calling. Just got the call from service. All parts are issued sand delivered. Differential, gasket and new bolts. I'm not sure if it was my constant calling, relentless emails, or my visits walking in to the dealership. All I know is once regional got involved and I mentioned buyback and lemon law, they got pissy with me and said if that's what I need to do. Then I continued with the rep and said no... what I want is my truck I am paying $40k for which Toyota received full payment on from my personal bank loan. I also told the rep how quality and customer relations have evaporate with Toyota. I also said if it wa you , you would want Toyota to make it right. The ass dragging by Toyota on this amazes me. Tw forum is so small and you see 600/1000 with the same issue. Think of the 1,000s to 10s of 1,000s out there with this issue. Toyota care !!! Lol

Long story short parts are in, getting installed, then a test ride and should have my truck back after 4:30pm today!

Be relentless. Email and call several times a day. Make a stop bye and see why it's not done. Call the regional office. I was going to go there for a face to face. We will see what happens today.

I was told by a lemon law lawyer NOT to mention a lawsuit. The dealer could refuse to speak you and you'll quckily find yourself having to negotiate with attorney's.

The rep at the regional office got pissy when I mentioned buy back. I'm using that as a last resort.

I just completed lemon law process yesterday. Toyota bought my 16 sport access cab back. Paid of my loan plus a nice refund. Used that money to buy a 17 sport 4 door for cheaper. Not gonna lie, I did have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it done. Live in North Carolina. I'll help anyone out I can. Whole process took awhile.

Mine has been in 6 times.. this being the 7th with them doing a "fix"... if it's fixed.. is that reasonable amount of times?
I have it all documented. Every Toyota service. I also have printed copies of texts and emails toyota related
