    The 10 second run off is bullshit in that situation. They put the rule in place to prevent the offense from purposely committing a penalty to stop the clock in the last 2 minutes.

    If they had a TO left, they could have taken it to save the 10 sec, but they didn’t.

    They should revise that rule to exclude reviews - specifically scoring reviews.

    They run 10 secs off because the clock should've continued to run if the correct call were made. The NFL determined that 10secs is the minimum time needed to line up and spike the ball, which is BS because i can show you a play (i think from last year) when the Lions got a snap off with 7 seconds remaining AND they had to run 27yds downfield to line up.

    Obviously I'm a Lions fan, but I know if it weren't for the 3 INTs it'd be a completely different game. We would lose to the Falcons probably 9x out of 10. That being said, I would've rather been blown-out than lose on some BS technicality. We'll probably get an apology from the NFL and the "Golden Tate Rule" will be implemented...

    Basically any time it goes from a stopped clock to a running clock (which happens after a penalty and also happens after reviews), they run 10 seconds off. The clock stops for the penalty (or a review), but as soon as the ball is placed and ready, the clock starts again, instead of the clock starting on the snap, like coming off a time out.

    If a team is out of timeouts and running out of time, without the 10 sec run off, they could commit a holding penalty on purpose in order to stop the clock, which would allow them to get a play, get lined up, essentially amounting to an additional time out.

    Understood, but sonds contradictory in a review situation. The have been telling the refs to err on the side of caution and not prematurely blow the play dead because once a play is blown dead it cannot be reviewed. So they incorrectly call touchdown review it. Because all scoring plays are reviewed and then penalize the team

    Touchdown! Falcons have 8 seconds to make a miracle happen.

    JK! Touchdown is no good, and Detroit doesn't get those 8 seconds b/c the refs made a mistake... Literally changed the outcome of the game not only by reversing the call, but by taking away Detroit's final chance at a TD.

    what an amazing weekend of football... maybe the best week 3 action the nfl has ever seen. sort of makes me want to get the nfl package so i can dvr all the games not on the ol telly and watch them later. can't wait for week 4.

    and my fantasy teams went 3-0. just dominate they are.

    man...thursday can't get here fast enough....

    i wish today was thursday... i can't wait to watch me some NFL football. i haven't watched this much football in ages. such a great season. bears packers at lambeau. does it get any better than that. shame the bears suck, but at least they don't suck as much as big ben and steelers.
