What electrical ones?

 

This happened in Ardbeg? Been to bobcaygeon and minden. Maybe my Tacoma wont be making the trip....

 

It totally safe in Ardbeg. I decided to make a stupid ass crossing that NOBODY else even looked at. You'll be fine. Everyone is very cautious and respectfull to driver/vehicle ability.

It happened cause he went in the no go hole.

 

there's a breather port on the front diff and the tcase for the electronics.
Not exactly sure why it needs a breather but I've heard if it isn't vented to above it can get sketchy over time due to water.
for what its worth @NeonHeights is having an issue with his tcase actuator not getting into 4lo, and I've heard from a few on here that, that comes with getting water on the actuator a lot and not having that electrical point vented above water.

The two breather lines that come up into the engine bay for the front diff are the actual vent on the diff and the other for the actuator since we don't have manual hubs.

 

to this day, still don't know what the fuck you were thinking man.



BTW anyone have waders? I feel like they would come in handy for the more unknown type water crossings so you can walk them without getting soaked. I'm considering getting a cheap pair if I do more of the runs near bobcaygen. From what I've heard a lot of the water crossings have gotten bad and have deep spots, enough to have water over the hood of a pathfinder and xterra, so figure walk it first so you can avoid them.

 

From the pics I only see the connection out the actuator. Where would the secondary electrical breather be?

 

thats the one on the tcase you see, the second one is on the front diff which is already brought into the engine bay.

at least on the 3rd gens it is, not aware of it being any different for the 2nd gens. the one for the actual vent on the tcase is also in the engine bay.

 

So I did some flex tests with a new "bump stop extension" (hockey puck) and realized just how weak the frame is. My wife was with me so I asked her to step out and admire my work. When she got back in the fucking door rubbed on somewhere. After closing the door you can see the offset of the gap in the door. All goes back to normal when on flat ground. Need to box this fucker sometime soon.

 

To be fair it doesn't look 4 feet deep from the trail.

 

maybe not in the truck but when I was standing next to it seemed pretty bloody deep.

 

Black is the trail/off shoot that was known. Red is where I went. There were fresh tracks going in and coming out. I figured if someone else did I could also. Very wrong assumption. Found out later the tracks were from swampers that had gone through earlier
