TLDR: I was joking with @Unchained 5150 and called him "garbage" because he jokingly said he was still learning about 3" lift kits when that's clearly not the case.

Oh I fully understand that! That's why I did all those quotes, to remind unchained what was going on.

Again, there are literally 349 pages of advice regarding Suspension and Lifts. Others directed OP to the search function and now this thread is ours.

As much as I want to disagree, he is correct. I am on a few forums, most I check every week or so, cause they are dead. TW is alive, or as my son says, Dad's Facebook.

But how many pages of BS mucking those 349 pages up?

I don't know. In all reality, it is probably easier to post a new thread. I don't blame OP.

Easy? Most definitely. It's not impossible though to find the info though. I did all the research and pieced together all the parts of my lift just from reading all the various posts on here. Definitely wasn't a quick thing though.

Probably something someone should research in depth anyway before dropping cash money.

Yeah, that's exactly why I did it! I had no idea people spent so much money on suspension until I joined TW.

I mean I value the usefulness of search and self help but seriously combing through post after post of bs to get the right answer can be old. What the fuck is the point of a forum if not asking questions, even common ones.

    Also this:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-halftime-speech.66102/

For you lazy assholes that don't want to click:

"This site is what it is because of both the members and the moderators...we have a LOT of new members who join every day to find out new information about their trucks. Many people arent as well informed as some of yall out there may feel you are...or how you feel they should be. Not everyone who joins has ever been a member of a forum before, and many have never owned a truck or wanted to modify or work on a vehicle theyve owned before.

It used to be that there was a "race" so to speak between members as to who could correctly answer a post first...regardless of how many times that post had been made in the past. It's becoming more and more evident that this has fallen by the wayside in favor of posts such as

'I refuse to answer your question. There is a wealth of information from
many people who couldn't use a search tool, much like you. Give it a shot!'

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/search/
This is a bullshit answer that will, if repeated too often, turn this site into every other toyota forum on the net. I dont care HOW many times someone asks if a tire size will fit...or where they should buy Bil. 5100s or whatever it is thats asked a million times in a million ways by half the new people that come on here...

TW has a tendancy to take threads off-topic...which i enjoy because many times, several other questions may get answered or someone else gets the help they needed. Because of this, asking...no...demanding that new users or anyone who posts a (God forbid) repeated question...is silly...a search is going to yield a bunch of us yakking about God knows what. Either answer the question, or dont post unless the question has been sufficently answered by a party who DOES know. Its not like its your server space its taking up room on...its Bob's"

I don't know. Maybe things have changed.

    Thank you!

So why do you insist on making it more difficult to members who are currently doing their research just the same as you did. You first hand know how much BS there is to filter through. You say it's the BS that's making people stay? It's the BS that's preventing new people staying.
How about instead of being a bully you just give some sound advice and move on. You obviously spend a lot of time on here, so why not help rather than hinder?
As an fyi...most if the articles that you guy refer us "newbies" to are often severely outdated. Threads that you refer to are often 2-3 years old, sometimes older.
New technology, venders and websites are happening every day. Its nice to get a new thread going to get an updated view of opinions.
I personally spent several days searching through this site and quickly realised that if I REALLY wanted to learn anything, I was going to have to make a new thread. Why? Because of bullies like you guys who say "now this thread is ours" filling up threads where people are asking genuine questions looking for some help with nothing but nonsense.

    Please stop.
    Please help.

Oh please, I'm a very helpful member here on TW. I was tacoma-less for 8 months, and was on here every day offering up the knowledge I have to someone in need. I help those who put in the effort, as opposed to someone who says "plz halp" and has taken no time at all to search. For example, this thread about lifting is literally pinned to the top of the page of the 3rd gen subforum. It's up to date and very informative. How much easier do we need to make it for you? If you don't want to stick around, that doesn't bother us any.

Have you never said "plz halp" before in your life?
Did you notice the HUNDREDS of pages of BS you have to filter through? Thanks to guys like you?

The stickied toytec thread, while very helpful, doesn't give much help for the OP's original question which were suggestions for a lift kit that other members have used..........

Not sure why this is a bone of contention. I showed a post by a moderator that clearly stated common questions are encouraged...

I have, but I do my due diligence beforehand.

Edit: also please go read my posts in this thread. Most (maybe all?) were helping someone else before you chimed in
It's meant to be as a starting point, and give any readers some basic knowledge, upon which they can further their search.
