    i stripped a screw installing a track today anyone know what the part number or screw is called.

    Nope, but I'm sure you could find one at the hardware store. I'd just take that one in and look for a replacement. Will be much cheaper than the stealership.

    Importance of having the right tools (Torx) for the job illustrated HERE.

    Hit up your dealer. You’ll want a wide head for the screw, not just any old M6 screw. Not to mention I’d want it matching the rest.

    Ya i had good quality tools that darn screw must of been driven in with a airgun cause it was tighter than a lug.

    Same happened to me, stripped trying to remove it. Ended up having to cut a notch in and removing it with a flat head.

    I think they are loctited in there but I don’t remember for sure.

    I got a stripped screw remover that made short work of it but dang was it tight

    If it were me, I'd buy the OEM screw.

    Sure, you could probably find a replacement in the hardware section at Home Depot but it's probably going to surface rust. It would also bug the shit out of me (maybe I'm OCD) to have a non matching screw

    Found 1"m6 torxhead t30 in forums think thats gonna be it but no part number. It seems to be a common issue so if i can get a lart number ill post it for future

    It would bug me too im gonna stop by a dealer and ask for the part hopefully he knows what i need.

    Part #90148-a0006 is the part number from tacoma parts!!! Their special order only went down and ordered today
