Put a dual VVTI 1GR that has sex with a 5 speed auto and I’d love it too.

It blows my mind why Toyota did this.

    Stock I got 20ish MPG

    My GFs 2017 4runner is averaging 19.8.

yours doesn't look nearly as bad as mine does, mine was spiking to 35 degrees, and even hit 38 once. you dont have a spike above 27 though and you have the same mods as me which makes no sense

Did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in?

    :p

Also, the exhaust may be going soon. Might make a “feeler” thread within the next week.

    It’s too loud.

Very strange. Did you try flashing back to stock and see if it does it?

Couldn't resist, put my 33's on. God damn if I didn't have the tune I would not be happy with my tires. Just another reason this tune is worth every penny.

No, I'm using a Bluetooth obd2 reader and an app on my pixel but I've found it to be quite accurate for a broad range of functions, and was also quite inexpensive for it's capabilities.

Same, I've hooked up techstream but rarely just drive with my laptop hooked up :) I normally connect my Carista OBD2 bluetooth adapter at startup and run the OBD Fusion App (iPhone) while driving and capture logs, etc.,

edit: Now the refresh rate isn't as fast since it's over bluetooth, but for real-time readings on a budget that you can trigger on start up with a couple of taps, it can't be beat

Sure am. Not sure if it’s powerful enough for the hood skewp on the TRD pro though.

It makes sense, the amount of calculated load is variable on atmospheric, temperature and elevation conditions. It's variable and your timing ran is also going to vary based on learning and how much ignition advance has been assigned due to how "happy" the tune is with your vehicle/fuel.

This is obviously not our trucks but here's an example from one of my STI's. Note the timing difference from .25 load to .40 load at 1200 rpms...jumps from 29 degrees to 39 degrees before any learned timing advance. Just a little additional load based on atmospheric conditions will cause a 10 degree difference in timing.

You and me both. I completely understand the complexity and propriety of the tune for our trucks...but I really loved the tuning solution COBB had for the Subaru platform. For 600-700ish you get the accessport with all the realtime datalogging and display functionality that handheld device had (and tuning without a PC), as well as open source access to the tune via their access tuner race software..so I could take the base map they gave us and adjust as needed and/or bring it to a tuner to customize the basemaps for your specific vehicle and any modifications added.

They have a pretty comprehensive guide for tuning as well which helped someone going into this blind get a feel for how the tables work together. It was intimidating initially, but in a big community the little one off problems people complain can get fixed by others with the same complaints (or at least attempt to fix it) and then can share the updates made with others.

Thanks, that actually makes me feel a lot better. For a minute I was starting to think maybe the tune wasn't playing nice with the intake and exhaust on my truck or something.. At least I know its NORMAL. Would be great if we could figure out a way to avoid or lessen the stutter but at least I don't have anything to worry about

EDIT: I wonder if there is a way to change the load table at idle so that theres a separate map for when the throttle is not being pressed at all. I feel like its trying to ramp up rpms to accelerate every time the compressor kicks on, and if they could make the ignition timing ramp up a lot more vanilla when the throttle is not supplying any additional input that would be sweet.
