    They are a dog.

If you decide they are a good plan, budget in for a th400 trans for the OD gear. Expect quad-4 performance numbers unless you plan on some forced induction for the Detroit boat anchor under the hood. They are a 24v system under the hood and 12v everywhere else.

Interior is spartan at best, but you can hose it out.... and the rear shell comes off ala 1st gen 4Runner.

That being said, they are not a bad vehicle all in all, just need love and care. I have about 12k behind the weel of one in service, and would take one over a hmmwv hands down if I had to pay for upkeep. I may just consider buying one when my TJ sells.

Late 50's through the 60's for adults, another 15 years or so for high school kids and their older vehicles. Hundreds of pics in the museums and local chambers of commerce around here.

Is nobody gonna comment on the battle axe?
Why? That's a Peugeot. Getting crushed would've been the humane option. :p

More of a battle-hatchet. Figured it was to cut the lemons in half. Or for the guys who got a bit fresh with the $8 special. :D

I'd like to combine the $8 and the $10 deal. I'm sure we could negotiate a better deal considering the range of options and reasonable prices.

I just figured it was at some type of Cosplay event in a park and that was all the action those "winners" would ever see. A dozen or so of those perennial virgins gather in a park nearby and engage in sword play. Probably at home as well.

Same with the 70's 5/4 ton Dodges. Full time 4x4 and a V8 means lousy mileage, but they'll carry a lot of weight pretty much anywhere you point them, they're easy to work on, and parts are fairly cheap.

Actually, as the topic was bug out vehicles, the idea would be a non-descript gray and rust paint scheme and maybe an old bent ladder rack, a little Crisco and dirt on the windows, hidden battery with disconnected dummy leads, remove the steering wheel, dummy flat tire, dead squirrel on the drivers seat and a sprinkle of pine needles and leaves...

I always laugh when I see silver bro-dozers with RealTree flares and chip guard.

Or say a 30+ year old work truck complete with some minor rust that hasn't been washed by anything other than the rain in years? :D
