maybe thats why I never go down to the beach between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

 

They take up to 80psi I think?? I didn't know if these being AT if I should fill them up more. On my nittos the 40 just happen to be the sweet spot for even wear.

 

40 should be more than enough. It's probably actually a little high.

80 psi because it is probably a load range E and can be put on 1 ton trucks where the 80 psi would be needed with a heavy load in the back ( )

 

I run 40 PSI in my MT's and 32 to 34 in my AT's and I get even wear in both. My AT's are a little softer caracas so I think the higher PSI would make them balloon out a bit more and wear unevenly. Just letting you know what I do

 

I run 40 psi in my tires to I ran 60 for my highway driving to Utah for a bit but for highway 40-50 works best and in town 32-35 is the sweet spot so I run 40 for a good balance

I run 35psi in my KO2s, seems to work out well! Then again, I can't discern any signs of wear after 15k miles...

 

So I'm doing some more research on this dash cam thing. Apperantelly some peeps "hard wire" it to the fuse box, instead of using the cigarette lights plug thingy.

A company called Spy Tec makes them. Since I'm a nood about shit like that, I shot them an email with the info on the cam I have, and asked if they make one that is compatible with it. Waiting for a reply so I can hopefully get one, and then get cracking on mounting it that way.

No luck on the suction cup mount thing so far though, so might have to "suck it up" and go with the 3M sticky mount.

 

So I would think that any hardwire should work for yours. Your cigarette lighter puts out something like 12v at 5 amps, so a 5 amp fuse tap should be the same as far as the cam is concerned. Not a bad idea to double check though.

Now if you do that route you'll need to figure out which fuse to tap. If you only want to record when driving, tap a fuse that is on with ignition. Otherwise if you want parking lot recording you can tap one that is always on.

 

Not sure if I'd want one that's always on... afraid it would drain/kill my battery. Supposedly the Spy Tec kit is "smart" about the battery thing, so definitely something to consider/think about. We'll see. I already have a add-a-fuse in my fuse box, suppose tapping into that with a t-tap is a bad idea, right?! Probably better to tap into another fuse using another add-a-fuse...

The cam really shouldn't drain much if you're daily driving your taco. If you're going to leave it for a few weeks you may want to turn the camera off, but even then it should be fine. If you're parking in a garage every night I wouldn't leave it always on though. There's no need.

As for the fuse, yeah I would definitely use a new fuse. Each of those fuse slots has a max number of amps it can handle. I don't know what that max is, but it's better not to risk it. But now do you see why everyone loves those BlueSea/Bussman fuse blocks?

 

LOL. Not quite ready to step up to one of those fuse blocks... yet.

Will do sir. And having another mod day wouldn't be a bad idea, since I missed the one in June, when I had to take my FIL to the airport.

 

Especially if you start adding heated mirrors, making your cig lights be on all the time. Etc!

 

Its a nice campground, but I do agree. If thats not your style, what about Savoy state forest? now thats camping! one of my favorites.

 

I ran out of slots on my bussman up front... I have like 4 slots left in the bluesea fuse panel in the bed. I'm going to put a bluesea 12 fuse panel on the otherside of the engine bay (passengerside) come spring time. Accessorizeeeeeeee
