You should never have to run anywhere near 80 PSI on the Tacoma. That's just the cold pressure the tires needs if you're carrying near it's rated capacity. My dad has load E tires on his 2500 and I think runs closer to 40 PSI when empty.

I'd hard wire it to a fuse that's only hot when the ignition is on so you don't have to mess around with the cigarette lighter. If you're concerned about it potentially draining your truck's battery, add an in-line switch somewhere so you can kill all power to it. That way, with the switch left on all the time, the camera would only be live when the truck is running but you have the option to kill it if you go away for a long period of time. One thing to keep in mind though, some of those cameras have parking functions so they'll grab video if your truck gets hit in a lot.

I would not use those T-tap things. Cut, solder, heat shrink and enjoy not having an electrical fire.

Depending on when this happens, I might be up for a drive. Got some heated seats that I want to hook up, but think I want to add fuse box first.

Never heard of it, but always willing to learn of more cool camping spots.

 

Bear Brook SP in southern NH was a new one for me this year and I'll definitely go back.

 

If it were me, I'd have a fused wire running from the battery to power the camera. I'd have that power wire controlled by a relay that's has a trigger wire from somewhere else on the truck that's only hot when the ignition is on. I tend to shy away from add-a-circuits if I can but that's preference. I like having a nice, clean fuse panel.

That's probably the best way to do it. I have one add-a-circuit and it controls the solenoid/relay that powers my Bussmann.

 

It’s as close to “real camping” as you can get while still being at a campground. Tons of trails to hike, 2 ponds nearby if you’re into fishing or kayaking, there’s a neat shitty little beach which is kind of a joke, and tannery falls is nearby and certainly worth checking out. Here’s a few pictures From my camping trip there this year.

I can’t wait to go back there. It’s awesome. Just a side note, there’s no cell service within like a half hour drive.

It amazes me how many commercial trucks are driving around on bald and wobbling tires.

 

Last I went, I actually had coverage through most of that state forest. There were just some sections that were no good. I know for sure I do at the falls. On AT&T.
