I had very little surface rust when i first got the truck, and cleaned it up and undercoated the truck with fluid film. I passed an inspection 1.5-2 years ago also, but climbing under the truck yesterday to change the oil i saw that ugly bitch out of nowhere. I even ordered my yearly undercoating supplies like 3 days ago :/

Also this is a Colorado truck, i bought it from the OG dealer that sold it.

So, yeah, I'm unbolting and removing my sliders I think. This isn't a positive development.

Just remember that most of us live to poke fun at others and you will be fine in here. We play rough but also lots of good advice/ knowledge in here. Just remember to ask @Star-Lord about why he Loves Factor55 products is a good way to start. :D

I'm the same way. Not offended/butt hurt at all. I don't require a safe space to survive in the world, bring on the smart assedness and sarcasm. That's what I get for pulling a Spicy drive-by last night!

You had it inspected under the previous recall, right? Have you gotten a postcard for the new lawsuit?

Yep it passed under the recall and passed. I got the post card about the frame settlement, but thought i was fine until i crawled under the truck yesterday for an oil change. At minimum we have until like April 2018 to get it covered.

If you had it inspected and it passed, then you're in the system.

I haven't received a new postcard, which worries me. I did have it inspected and it passed, too. Did they do the coating on yours? They didn't on mine.

I debated bolt-on vs welded sliders for this very reason. You have a clear case IMHO that they should replace it but they're going to try to weasel out.

Mine was inspected and passed. No coating. Haven't seen any new post cards though

Colorado was not an undercoating state...... but kentucky was............ made no sense to me. I did fluid film under coating and eastwood internal frame protection to take care of mine. Luckily the slider leg is far away from the hole, and on the oppsite side of the frame. I wonder if the do approve if they will let me cut my sliders off.... hmmm

Gist of it is, all 2005-2010 tacos now have a 12 year frame warranty from day of original purchase or 1 year from the class action settlement date (Aprilish 2017). If you have a 10mm perforation you get a new frame. If you are in an undercoating state you can still get undercoating.

Man, you're not filling me with confidence. I Fluid Film and did the pale green Eastwood internal coat, too. If they approve a replacement with the sliders I wouldn't argue about leaving them and doing new ones.
