Shouldn't be a problem though, since I won't have cell reception where I'm going.

I don't disagree. I too have noticed MPG go to shit at 70+ and it's not like I need it to pull in 6th anyway. Reverse is pretty messed up too. Not that big of a deal for standard use but if you have something heavy hooked up to the back you are basically stuck slipping the clutch to hell. 4low helps if you can keep it in a straight line but that's not always an option and shouldn't be necessary. 2low would be nice.

I agree. 5th and 6th are too close to 4th for me. stretching them out to say .75 and .5 respectively would cure many flatland MPG woes at speed.

I've been looking at some manual front hubs to solve this problem myself. 2low w/ locked diff would make blasting sand awesome too.

i can verify that, from my own sensibilities, 4.3 rear gearing in the MT on stock tire size is the sweet spot for my usage, primarily on road. i have aftermarket tires but in the stock diameter. for me, this tune is about perfect for the whole drivetrain.

Fully agreed, and as a matter of fact, I put together some graphs based on these 2 tables to see the differences, and accounting for wheel/tire size, final drive, and all gears, the graph doesn't move very much. It's amazing that the delta between the 2 aren't that big yet the driving characteristic is night and day.

If you're interested in my excel sheet with graphs, you can PM me and I'll send it to you. I sent them already to Mat to give him an idea on what we are looking for. It also graphs RPM on X axis so it quite interesting to see what speed you are on given any RPM.

Really frustrates me how much better my wife's 2017 f sport rx drives than this truck. Especially in sport plus mode.

That's a very unfair comparison though, let's be honest.

So I received the package... Order #2036. I gotta say.. the install instructions suck. At this point I don't know what's installed and what's not installed.
I don't have the purple guardant USB that's shown on page 3 of the v.1 instructions. I do have the little mini-USB dongle and the translucent box that connects to the port in the truck. The LED's inside it go from blue to yellow to green to red, and back. I really dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
I downloaded the four files that page 3 tells me to download. When the instructions tell me to plug in the purple gaurdant USB, I plug in the translucent box with the pretty lights... cuz that's what I have.
Page 4 tells me that after I installed the necessary drivers to load PCMFLASH. I've now run all three of the other files I've downloaded, but no matter what I do nothing extracts from pcmflash-1.1.83.zip..... the directory it creates is ALWAYS empty.
I've followed this thread since Day One, always figuring that people having trouble just couldn't read and follow instructions.. NOW I KNOW BETTER THAN TO THINK THAT!

    Dongle isn't purple anymore though.

The small black dongle is the guardant, plug that in to one usb port and the translucent dongle with the cable into another.
Also disable your Antivirus, it's deleting PCMFlash.

Those are the same instructions I'm working from.
The only virus software I run is McAfee, and I have it disabled. Still no file is extracted from PCMFLASH.

    Uninstall that crap.

Make sure Windows Defender is turned off too. ALL AV should be switched off when doing this, it's so crucial that it goes smoothly that you can't afford an AV to mess it up.

Thanks... but actually none of that worked. I don't run Windows Defender, ever. I do run McAfee but sometimes have to turn it off temporarily. I will not uninstall it from my notebook, it's not worth the risk to me. My notebook runs a $1.6M business.

On the bright side.. I did find a way to get the PCMFLASH file. By clicking the "View" button on tha Yandex site, I could directly download and save the pcmflash.exe file, effectively bypassing the .zip file step. Doing this, I was able to download, save, and run the file to view the required serial number.

I doubt it's worth even mentioning but if you really think McAfee is doing literally anything to protect your supposed $1.6M business please please please do some research and invest a bit more into security.

Definitely run "something" on your system but McAfee is shit as far as protection goes. Network
Security is how I've made a living for 20+ years and McAfee is garbage. Windows defender will do
10x the job...not that this solves your issue but stating that you "think" it protects your business
    is a fallacy.
