Where do you live that you could pay a mortgage for $736/month? That doesn't even pay the property taxes in So Cal! :annoyed:

When you are at the bottom of a hole, it's best to quit digging.

Read some of the stories. People going in and not reading the fine print or not understanding what APR is and getting crushed... Horrible.

My salary is kinda cruddy, too. Actually, it is cruddy haha Companies are getting away with lower salaries since everyone and their mother wants to live here. It is what it is. Im fortunate to have a job at the least so I shouldn’t be complaining!

Op, if you can afford it then go for it! If it’s going to put unnecessary financial stress on you then don’t. My opinion.

I gotcha. Yeah, I actually put down a decent amount of money on my SR5 so my payments are nowhere near a house payment. However, on a little further refection, without a decent down payment, a brand new Tacoma probably isn't the best financial decision for someone who doesn't own a home. I can see where you're coming from.

Couldn't just let this one pass. A donkey can get approved for a 40k car loan right now. The poor stay poor by acting rich. A majority of the people you see that look like they have it all are up to their eyeballs in debt and have very little in the bank, at all income levels.

    Certainly one reason.

Others include YOLO, I deserve it and lack of self control.

Along with believing the lie of debt is good.

Dear old dad was right when he said 'never finance a depreciating item...... it just makes you a two time loser'.

Alright so I went to the dealership and I would pay about 6k more to get the long bed OR. I went with not getting it and sticking with my 2wd, so thanks for all the postive/negative feedback. If you guys have any 2wd advice or tips shoot me a PM please.

I pay $2350 a month for a little cookie cutter 2 bedroom apartment in Irvine CA but don't worry about anything breaking or a light bulb going out since the complex will fix it all no questions asked. I guess it's just how you wanna live your life?

Are you a member of Costco? If so us http://www.costcoauto.com/
I did and saved over $4,000 for my truck
You find out what they paid for the truck, they add $400 and that is your cost.

Smart move. If you really want off road capabilities in your 2wd get good AT tires and maybe upgrade the suspension. Your truck will surprise you with how capable it is with only 2wd.

Nope, it was great, you fill out what you want and send it in. they contact you and tell you where your truck is at and come in to take a look at it. If you dont like it, walk away. You still get all rebates and trade ins just like you would with out using them. I will never buy a car or truck with out them again.

    Like, so many.
I think you made the right call. My two previous trucks were 2WD and they did just fine for what I needed at the time. I bet 90% of truck owners don't NEED 4WD.
