It's good, but still prefer the Charter Oaks I've tried, and the Founders.

Found out some stuff about the brewery that's going to be opening up here in town.

The city finally approved their permit, so it's going to open in January as of right now. Also, they will be purchasing a canning machine, and are going to stop doing bottles. Regular stuff will be in 12oz cans, specials will be 16oz.

Can't wait!

I went to Treehouse today. It's the first time that I've been. I got there around 11:10 or 11:15. The parking attendant was directing people to park in a dirt lot near the road. You can't see the brewery from there. There was a side-by side shuttling people, and some people were walking up a paved side walk. I decided to walk, since the side-by-side only takes a few people at a time. The walk to the brewery is pretty quick, where I found another visitor parking lot that was full, with a line of people wrapped around the lot. I thought that they opened at 11, but the line didn't go to the door, and wasn't moving. So, I looked it up, and they don't open until 12 on Wednesdays. While we waited, an employee walked down the line announcing what beers were for sale, and other information. They opened around 11:40, at which point the line moved up quite a bit. I got into the building around 12:00, and finally out of the sun. Five minutes or so later, I had cans and was walking back to the lower parking lot. The brewery is really nice, and maybe next time I'll be there on a day when they serve pints.

I got the max allotment for the day, which included Haze, Green, and Bright with simcoe & amarillo.

 

Mayflower EvoLupulin DIPA - a decent IPA, but not great.

I've walked away from breweries with shorter lines than that. Although I think I'd make an exception for Treehouse (at least once).

I thought about leaving when I saw the line. The heat and humidity have been brutal in the northeast recently, and waiting outside was pretty bad because of that. If I make it back, I'll try to go at a less busy time. Their website says that Friday evening is the quietest time to go. I don't know what time they typically sell out of cans though.
