Yeah, trust me I sell these things and it's tough to sell them when Ford, Chevy and Dodge are taking $10k Plus off the sticker Price. Most people don't care about the "Value" thing, it's all about price, which I understand (sometimes lol)

 

My H2 with winch and plate bumper, roof rack, and 35" BFG MT's got 14mpg. Once. On the highway. Downhill. With a tailwind...

ILl regear and be back in the 16s. camper took a good 3-4 mpg.

 

I'm thinking about buying one of these If you have any input please feel free to comment. I dont wanna spend $400 dollars on a saw that I don't plan on using a lot.Thanks

 

Wow. I wonder how fort zachary taylor beach faired. That is my favorite spot down there.

 

What would you use it for?

 

Plan on doing a screen enclosure for the patio and If i need to cut any bar stock or tubing for diy projects.

 

I say go for it then, doesn't sound like too much of a job for that saw but I am unfamiliar with Chicago Electric

 

Its a harbor freight brand not the greatest stuff but cheap and usually pretty good for the DIY'er

 

If you are just doing light duty, why not get a portaband? Infinity more useful.

I thought about it but more expensive and the miter dry cut saw would be a better option for my needs

 

Good to know you covered your options, I got portaband used pretty cheap, Milwaukee, love it, those "giant grider" saws tend to be less elegant.

 

The revolutions per minute are significantly less than one of a wood cutting miter resulting in a clean cut with minimum burs.

 

I was more referring to how wide the cutting wheels usually are and how much gunk they make when cutting, granted I've only really used them for steel stud. YMMV.

I've had decent luck with HF power tools for what it's worth.

 

thanks. I have family in palm coast. When hurricane matthew came through last year, it literally punched a brand new inlet from the atlantic, clean through to the matanzas river. Pretty amazing. I visited and saw them dredging and repairing it this summer. It is filled in now. You can see the different looking sand where it was.

 

I think I can buy a 80 tooth blade for it

 

Good god, that's crazy. Then again I'm used to 24tpi blades so that thing just looks like a wood ripper to me.
