lol this. They are a good thing for sure, but just try and cut them out after you realize you are putting your truck back to stock and they don't work with your oem uca's.

 

If you want it to stop dancing you need solid motor mounts, otherwise you just have to ignore it because it's harmless haha. Also an upside down pair of chennellock pliers can put those ring retainers in easily.

After tears, swears, and thrown tools, my knuckles are beat and it feels like I did a 1000 pushups on my thumbs, but I've finally come to the conclusion that the aftermarket bushing is just too big. Tried beating it on further, broke it. put it in naked, and that top cap went on easy- didn't realize I had to depress it lower than flush with the sleeve- couldn't shove it down that far with the bushing on no matter how hard I tried, nevermind snapping it into place. Ordering an OEM part, and driving without one for now.

 

Even with the channel lock trick?

 

The price is nifty. Too bad no smoggy steeker.

No, like an idiot I went straight to google rather than coming here first and bought a Dorman made one on Amazon. Didn't read the reviews where other people had the same issue ... Not my best effort.

Used my little break in the day to wash the grey truck, didn't take any pictures but she doesn't clean up much so it felt like a bit of a waste. Oh well more excuse to bedline the lower half. Also was bumping the tunes in it and the voltage dipped a bit low and the gas gauge went a bit fucky, so I think I'll have to have a look at the frame ground, have a feeling it came off, got some spare 2ga and some copper lugs to make a new frame ground though so no biggie I suppose.

I really wanted to leave it dirty from the trip but the mud we all got covered in is nasty and super hard to get off if it fully dries. Look up Bentonite clay/mud and you'll see what I mean. I somehow missed the .25" x 4" label at the carwash that said no truck bed cleaning and the dude there went nuts and said the owner would likely pull my license number and fine me $250. I was even nice and sprayed it all into the ground vent on my paid for time, but he was not having it.

 

lol my bad I meant give'r a trail paintjob and let the raw beauty come through of form following function. Definitely clean up after that mud - or the beach. I spent 2 solid hours with a pressure washer at 24 hour self wash until like 3 am. I put about 5 bottles of degreaser on the undercarriage and engine bay and that stuff still was coated in salt n' sand residue - I was cursing the po the entire time. Skin burned like a mother too.

The 24 hour wash is key since I figured they wouldn't want me spraying degreaser to the degree that I was. I don't like to pollute either. From now on I wash the thing regularly like I do on my current 08 and won't have to go hog wild again like I did that time - ended up wire wheeling and wiping everything down with acetone and spray painting the undercarriage and engine bay anyway. That salt residue blows - it patina's everything and dirt sticks even worse. It should slide off now that everything's coated.

 

New what? Another tent?!

 

the mud we dealt with going to the dunes was even worse than what you experienced. My truck bed looks more like somone scooped up the earth with a back hoe and dropped a bucket in there than driving down a county road in wyoming

AC pulley going out?

 

I had a hard time hearing the noise. Your motor is so much quieter than mine. But if it changes pitch when AC is on vs AC off then it's likely the AC compressor clutch, not the idler pulley.
