Took my truck in today for the recall. Said they have parts coming in three weeks and 100 Tacomas already needing to be fixed on their lot. So, mine may be done in a month or so. WTF. I got a Frontier loaner for now.

Side note. They are also fixing my a/c which crapped out with less than 6000 miles on the truck. At least it is covered under warranty.

    Whatever happened to Toyota quality?

Been scratching my head on that one for a while now. I guess the service advisers are really scary or something.

I work Monday thru Friday . its not that simple sometimes. Especially working with dealers that tell you we will have it here Monday. So drop off the truck Monday. This has been 6 months of bull. I told them to keep it till they fix it and every day that I have a loaner I will put 200-500 miles on it. I'm thinking about taking mon-tue-wed off next week just to drive to Seattle for coffee! It's 7,000 miles-ish rd trip. My goal is 15k miles on the loaner. I just cracked 1,200 as of now. That's also with a 3 day trip to Maine that was done by plane so the loaner sat at the airport. Also this loaner thing is nice. Don't care if someone can't park or shopping carts. I park where ever and don't need to worry about the A-hole parking next to me and putting a ding in it.

HAHAHA. Love your attitude. Hopefully when you bring it back it'll have a few leaks of its own. Take it across the border into Canada while your at it. If your going to Seattle. Should post it to the dealers facebook saying thanks!

Sadly besides this being a 4cyl and 0 balls on the hwy it seems to have 0 issues. Although it just cracked 4,000 miles and is a 2017 sr5 4WD. I try to feather it for the howling and nothing. If you think this 6cyl sport/off-road idles bad you drive the 4cyl. It sounds dead on like a diesel.... my 1989 4x2 22r 2.4lt carborated engine was quiet as hell ...
oh well it's getting 27mpg . And like my wife says . Look at as a good thing. It's 1,200-3,000 miles per week not going on your truck.

I hate when my wife tries to make a point just to piss me off!!!!

Haha I love it. It's amazing how much weight a half ton loaner truck bed holds. Just sayin

Yes, yes you do. 1/2" screened, 1 ton. Bump stops worked just like they should.

    Update .. day 11.

The dealer called at 7:15 Am today and informed me the 3rd differential will be installed today. They will call me back after they test drive it.... fingers crossed for a unicorn differential. Hopefully they replace the wheel bearings and completely flush the rearend of metal contamination.....

    Morning Bob.

If it were my truck I'd run 75w90 instead of their 75W85. Mobil 1 or Amsoil Severe Gear. I bought a case of the Amsoil Severe Gear in the middle of the fiasco. I decided to hold off incase Toyota wanted to see the condition of the fluid themselves. Amsoil comes recommend on here and other places.

I can get you a discount also. Or you can become a preferred customer and receive it also.

Drives like a champ. I missed driving it. They put 2 differentials in it . A driveshaft off a new Tacoma on the lot. Even with the new drive shaft it made the noise. Ordered a new diff put my drive shaft back and runs like a top.... and
look "A UNICORN DIFFERENTIAL ". Seriously. Email toyota daily.. call regional daily, call the dealer daily, call the service manager daily, called the General manager daily. It's been a giant pain in my ass ! Be a bulldog. All this in 11 days because I just wouldn't stop. I'm also anal.... so that helps

    Look
