Sweers gets a lot of shit around here but I feel like they hit it out of the park with the 3rd gen 6MT. Shifter is so smooth and feels overbuilt, like it will last a lifetime. Hell after 5K miles I'm really starting to enjoy the 3.5L as well. So glad I got the manual.

Do you have a picture of that? I don't like how that leather falls down and doesn't stick to the base of the ball.

I currently have the round TRD one, and previously had one off speeddawg.com. The TRD one is a bit bigger and took some getting used to. It's like shifting with a baseball, but after using it for awhile I really like it.

Hi there! figured I'd jump in late, I've had my '17 Sport 4x4 AC Manual for about a month now and I'm digging it. I've had a Hurst T handle shift knob on every Standard trans vehicle I've ever owned and I'd like to put one on this truck, too. For those of you who have run a different knob than stock or Pro, what have you done to keep the boot in place? I don't want to put zip ties on my brand new truck.

Changed to the Pro Knob as soon as I got home from the dealer, that ugly stock double ball thing had to go!

The shift ball looks huge, but it's just perspective. It's a standard-size ball.

I just let the leather boot sag. I found a black rubber sink washer at Lowe's and superglued it onto the ugly chrome ring on the top of the leather boot.

Picked up my first Tacoma this past weekend, 2017 TRD sport 4x4 DCSB. Love having the manual in a truck, it's the best of both worlds!!

So I keep going through floor mats because my left heel wears a hole in every mat I've tried. I know this is exacerbated by wearing boots with hard soles instead of sneakers.

I've tried the weathertech all-weather mat, and put a hole in it alarmingly fast. I'm not going to drop the $$$ on the digital if I'm going to wear a hole through the damn thing in a year or two.

Right now I have cheapos from O'Reilly's that have lasted a couple years, but I'd really like a long-term solution for this. Maybe I could just tear out the carpet and go with bare metal :D

no i don't but they say 44% shorter throws and that's how it looks to me. it's just right for me. much tighter and firmer, too.

Could try riveting a small square of aluminum where your heel rests and paint it black to match the floor mat. :notsure:
