Alright, so I have a 2014 DC Prerunner with the 2.7 at 55k miles, and I've always wanted a TRD Off-road with the V6. I found a 2015 that has 104k miles. It has the TRD Off-road package as well. Has been decently maintained, but not all on record. The owner used it for towing based on the fact that it has helper springs installed. It also has some dents and dings in the skid plate. Outside of he vehicle looks 8/10. Inside is clean, but the PO was a smoker and it smells of smoke faintly, and it has a burn hole in the seat. It drove good and was smooth but it has a hard pedal so it's going to need a booster, most likely.

They said that They would give me 21,800 for mine and that they would take 21,700 for that truck. They have it listed as a Base model, because the TRD decals have been removed.

I owe 19,700 for my truck currently.

My concern is that the PO drove it hard and didn't maintain it very well.

I'm a technician for Ford so I know what to look for in Ford's, and I know a lot of things to look for with Tacomas, but do you think they honestly made a mistake and don't realize it's a TRD Off-road, or do you think they are hiding something? It did drive very well, and very smooth.

    Help!

Nada on mine is 20k for trade and the clean retail on the 2015 is 28k... this is either the deal of the century, or I'm thinking about buyif a total POS that they know something about it that I didn't find when I drove it

Do you smoke? If not, that smell never truly goes away. It's not a bad price if it's a 2015 Offroad.

I don't smoke... it wasn't a super strong smell though. It would need a thorough cleaning though.

The weird thing is, the sheet in the window that displays the options, doesn't show the TRD package. I'll post the link.

Normally I wouldn't either, but this could be a huge screw up on their part and an awesome deal for me.

    I'm so torn.

I really think that they actually are.

Might cruise down there and talk to the used car tech and see what they think about it.

I live in OKC and I'm down here for technical training, and today is the last day I'm here.

you sure its a TRD OR. does it have a locker? Cus they did have the option on base models to get the same rims as the TRD OR.

But a smokers truck. NOPE. i would never buy a truck that was used by a smoker. The tar and smell is ALWAYS going to be stuck in all of the fabric and vents. NOPE NOPE NOPE also 104k miles on a 2 year old truck... damn.

Also, is the truck you are looking at 2wd or 4wd?

Ah didnt see the link... 4x4 and yeah its a TRD OR. Still though... i know there is no way in hell i could live in a smokers truck. And like stated thats a fuck ton of miles. My 2013 TRD OR 4x4 only has 60!

How do I check functionality of everything. The transfer case actuator works. I made sure of that. Didn't drive it in 4h or 4l though.

Yeah I know. But it's hard to tell if it was mainly highway. It has new off-road tires on it though. It definitely has been used as a truck.

Does the locker work in 4h? I could slowly turn around in 4h or 4l with the locker engaged and see if the tire drags.

    Oh helllllz naw.

105 miles in two years with mods for regular heavy towing?

I wouldn't even consider it. Im thinking he towed long distances a lot.

Its a big fat NO just for the smoking let alone with a truck thats gonna need a new Tranny in 100k.
