I wouldn't worry too much about the smoke, mine was from a smoker and I got it out no problem. For a month or two I could still smell it faintly if it was hot out and all the windows were up (like really hot and muggy would bring it out of the fabric), but nothing since then. I did one of the bombs someone mentioned, sprayed some febreze on the seats and carpet and headliner for a week or two every time i got out of the truck.

My buddy bought an F-150 that was from a smoker and he had a dealer do an ozone machine treatment and it took care of it immediately. I just couldn't find a dealer near me that had one.

I'm no expert either. I just wonder if it's worth checking it out again, or if I should head home

I think it's definitely worth checking out. I just think you should look it over VERY closely. Look for signs of any repainting. Look to see if it has the clear paint protection film on the back of the wheel wells where the mud flaps used to be. Look for mud way up under the dash that could only have gotten there in a flood.

Edit: wait, now that I think about it, I'm not so sure the clear sticker stuff is under the mud flaps from the factory.

Will do! I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I really am super impulsive when it comes to getting vehicles, but that's only when I'm unhappy with my current one.

I'm going to try and find the used car tech and ask him if he knows anything about it.

Will be nice to step up to the V6 OR. I'm very happy with my old 2010.

Even if everything checks out and all the fluids look okay?

I just don't know if I should take the deal because on paper it's worth 27-28. According to nada pricing.

Well I know the feeling the 2.7L isn't enough so I want a bigger truck. But if it's been towing with that many miles I'd keep away. And the cigarette smell is a no go for me no matter what, like Forrest Gump.

Do you think insurance would be much higher between the two?

It's a faint smell. So it's not that bad. I have a feeling it would be easy to get rid of the smell with the right chemicals

Probably. Febreeze works pretty good to me but I have no fumigation experience.
But if you did get past the smoke smell I think it may be ok, if the fluids are fresh and you put in new air filter, spark plugs/coils, MAF and 02 sensor it may run a little better.

That's assuming it doesn't run very well, which I couldn't feel any hesitation or stumbles etc. Might as well kill some time.
