I'd say go for used ones. It seems to me they take quite a while to settle in so any that have some miles on em are just getting broke in. Ha. Mine might not even be broken in yet. Lol. Got roughly 5k miles or so on em. Installed em last thanksgiving.. Damn, I dont drive much. Lol.

And that way you can test them out for not too much money. I'm still betting theyre gonna be taut tho. If you're still considering them, theyll most likely work.... You'll just need to drive it with extreme care I think. You'll probly literally have zero down travel. Ha. Considering ive only got like an inch or two.

Tha'ts odd. My Eibach 620 coils and bilsteins 5100 with the adjustable coilovers ride really great right now. Stock bumper. Extended cab V6. They do work really well off-road. I did rebuild everything in my suspension when I did it so that might help. Ball joints, tie rod ends etc.

This is why I'm a bit unsure of what route to go because peoples opinions differ in a really big way. How much lift did you get out of them and what did you do to the rear?

I bought the Toytec coilovers. They came out of some place in Colorado. The company was really helpful and explained to me a couple things. I have the height adjustable 5100 shocks on there. They said to put them on the lowest notch because that gives the shock the most travel and it absorbs bumps the best this way. I did notice that made a huge difference in ride. I also noticed that the more I twisted the adjusting sleeve (more lift) the harsher the ride was. I also have stock control arms and I only adjusted it to 2-1/2" of lift so I did not have my CV boots rubbing themselves raw. My tires are 265/75/16 so about a 32". According to my door sticker they are 3" taller than my stock tires. Gives me ample amount of lift (IMO).

The rear of the truck has a 5 pack of leaf springs which appears to be an upside down AAL. The shocks are Red with no label so I am unsure what I have back there. The rear was set-up like that when I bought it years ago along with some Fox coilovers that had spacers on the top. That was a terrible riding setup. I am happy with what's on there now.
