Might do some ribs this weekend. Waiting to hear if some family is coming over to make pasties or not. If they don't then ribs will go on.

You mean pastries stuffed with meat, like pierogis? Right?

I'm pretty stoked for this next week. My wife, who has never been a fan of my smoked goods, is leaving for the week so I get to grill and smoke all week! I'm thinking steaks one night, buffalo wings another night, and chicken thighs on another night. I might even try my first brisket on Saturday if time allows!

Depending on the breasts involved, this thread will get much more entertaining or much more disturbing if he's making little spinning tassels that go on nipples.

For the first time in a dozen years can't make it to SD for pheasant hunting. One of the things I will really miss are the pasties that the neighbors from Wi. bring out every year.

Jumbo Joe I ordered for camping came today and really like it. 2 burns in it so far one to burn off any oils and the second a steak. Being smaller it really seems to concentrate the charcoal taste and smoke more. A lot more. I think this may become my main grill seeing how I am usually only cooking for myself or at most 2 people.

Ribs this weekend for me, too. Kroger has spares on sale. I'll do the trimming in to St. Louis style, then tinker with the tips. Haven't cooked in a little while, so it'll be nice to get the smoke going again!

Nah these are just crusts filled with meat, potatoes, carrots, rutabaga and onion. I would be happy to make the others if I can get some female volunteers to help with the sizing and fitting. If I'm doing it then they need to be more custom not just one size fits all.

Ya having grown up in MI they are huge here. We only do them a couple times a year at max due to how much time they take to make. Been wanting them lately, I think it's the whole fall thing, soon it will shift to making some big pots of chili. :)

Man that looks GOOD. You make sure own crust? It's a crap shoot if I do anymore, depends on how lazy I'm feeling. The pre made stuff is actually pretty good these days.

Yeah I always make my own. Same with pizza dough. Loafs of bread for my lunch sammys? Eh, about 15% of the time :p
Empanadas, meat pies, pasties = meat in hand and on the go :D
