I just had mud tires installed on my 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road. Ever since I got the truck back, the tire pressure screen on the dash will not show me the tire pressure. It just shows "----" for each tire. However, the low tire pressure indicator is not on. I did not have this issue before they changed the tires. I took it back to the place that put the tires on and they tried to reprogram the sensors. Nothing. I still have the factory wheels and I only have 850 miles on the truck so I doubt they would change anything with the sensors. Any idea what's wrong?

Have you tried the TPMS reset button under the dash?

I just tried that. It didn't do anything to help.

Drive it. Mine did the same when I swapped tires and didn't start displaying tire pressures until I had driven for a while.

Ok thank you guys. I did the reset and drove it like the manual said. It hasn't reset properly yet, but I will give it more time

Ever figure it out? I’m having same issue with my 2019. New wheels and tires for the second time since first ones were messed up cosmetically. No issues during the first swap, but now after the second set it just shows “——“, thanks!

Are you sure they put your TPM's back in?

Have you driven it at least 23 mph for at least 20 minutes? That's what it takes to initialize.

Here's the jumper wire method for pulling DTCs from the TPMS if you're so inclined.

Ditto. Sounds like you don't have TPMS sensors in the wheels.

    Any updates on this...?....

I took my 2017 for a tire rotation and after it was all done, the guy just pressed the "set" button located next to the hood latch and said that I just needed to drive it for a while to get the sensors to pick the signal. I did, now 2 weeks later and nothing... I'm like 'wtf'

What is the best way to do this; press and release and wait or drive it for 1000 miles at 120mph ,....f@☆king sensors....anybody knows?...

    Thanks for the help guys....

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Unless it is your beer drinkin buddy that installed your tires, the frickin dealer that installed them should have enough sense and knowledge to set this for you.
If not you need a different place to install your tires!!

It should read very quick- I was just half a block away from the tire place and they started sending right away.

have the same issue, changed winter tires and are driving now for a bout a week, still getting "-". Sensors are in, as I kept my summer tires on rims. I'm thinking maybe sensor batteries are dead? I kept my tires in an unheated garage....

Common problem. There are DTC's that are created to help you troubleshoot. Getting "--" only means the locating function isn't working. Do the proper reset and if that will not work do what's mentioned in the posts below.
