I've ordered my '18 TRD Sport 4X4 with the manual as well and was told delivery should be early to mid December.

Quick question, is dealer giving any discount for these pre-orders? What kind of deals are you guys getting for '18 models?

I haven't had time to get to dealer this week. hope to get in there tomorrow to get it ordered. Think I may call them to see if we cant just go through all options on phone and then me get it on order and I can drop off deposit when I get off work. I cant usually get there till like 6pm and order guy is gone.

Interesting. I'm going to call my dealer tomorrow and request an honest update as to when I can expect this truck. If we're talking three months, it's a no go in my book. Do you know if dealers have the ability to "refund" my deposit on the ordered truck or am I pretty much stuck in this position? I knew I should have waited to order the damn thing...

Perhaps if I decide to buy a Tundra they have in stock they'll give me less grief.

No additional discount for me on this pre-order. Our dealers around here have the mindset of "It's a Tacoma and if you don't buy it, the next guy will".

Discounts? I actually work at the dealership and the salepeople haven't even been able to tell me a price. The guess is it will be around a thousand dollars more because of the TSS stuff. The '18 Tundra was around a $1,200 dollar increase over the '17.

Dealer told me new Tacoma only had more safety features . 2018 Tacoma was only a few hundred more than a 17 Tacoma.

    They are not "Totally correct"

The SR5 model double cabs should have the power rear slider, AND yes the added safety features.

Edit: All V6 models have the tow package added as standard.

Honestly, the one "new" feature I'd love the 2018 to have above all else would be a better / quieter rear diff. I was at the dealership last week just browsing since I live within walking distance and found a whole new fleet of Tacomas, with an assortment of what I thought was dealer upgrades like covers, running boards, roof racks, wheels..etc. I walked up to have a look and was told by the sales person that those were ALL customer trucks waiting on the rear diff recall / fix. I'm talking about 30 or so of them.

God I hope Toyota is waiting till Nov / Dec to delivery these is because they're working this rear diff (and other bugs) out and not just adding that TSS nonsense on there.

Well, if there was anything to make people like the cheese grater/electric shaver grille more, this is it. Personally it's a hard pass for me. Curious if the TRD Pro grille will be any different.

I think the Pro Grille will remain the same because there is a boxed section in for what I assume is for that Safety Sense stuff.
