Depending on mileage... Sway Bar links and shocks are a good idea

If they are OEM than I would definitely change them. Should not have a labor charge. Only parts. I brought my own shocks with me.Using Toyota OEM Sway Bar Links. Also check the trailer hitch for rust . You might want want to change that also

I have a 2001 extended cab 4x4 4 banger with 115k. I was under it yesterday and noticed a big hole in the frame above the front rear leaf spring connection point. This frame is toast. You guys think I would be covered for a new frame?

    This settlement covers the 2005-2010's.
The 1st gen settlement covered up to 15 years from first use if I remember right...
You 01 would of expired around last year.

    Nope it's a 2002, not a 2001. Think it'll still be covered?

I'm surprised my model rusts like it does but I can't believe the latest generation does also!

When all of these start coming in with rust, and they will, Toyota may have a huge lawsuit on their hands. I'm talking the 2005 and up.

My truck with a good frame has at least 200k miles left in it so don't give me "your truck is fifteen years old crap. When trucks of all brands of the same age with similar miles in a certain location are inspected you will see toyota frames are the worst. That's the statement that will be used against them. It's bad and they know it.

You're a little late...Toyota has had a suit filed against them, years ago now, and they settled out of court so they wouldn't have to be in the media spotlight over yet another recall.
Toyota also had a suit for your year model and was responsible for either frame replacement or 150% buyback.
Ask me how I know........BECAUSE I RESEARCHED. It would do you some good to do some informational digging so you're aware of your rights.
Unfortunately, I dont think there is anything Toyota will do for you. You're welcome to call them up but I'm almost certain they're gonna say, " Sorry, but that replacement program expired for you year model on 'such&such' date..."

Now if you are decent with iron and a welder, there are a good bit of repair info on here and Google about it.
If you can find an 03-04 Tacoma, I believe theres still a little time left on the replacement deadline for them.

My truck was done on Wednesday and I took it home last night. The tech wanted to drive it a little to make sure everything was ok. I told home to just take it home on Wednesday and I will take it home on Thursday. Everything checked out good, but the hitch I bought became an issue. The hitch I bought was a Draw Tite and that hitch requires the factory bumper brackets, which are not present on a TRD Sport because those brackets are built into the OEM hitch. Also, the 7-pin connector has it's own home on the OEM hitch, where I need to figure something our on the Draw Tite. I just had him put the OEM one back on for now until I get the other one figured out. I have the bumper brackets ordered and should be in today ($45 each side!?!). I'm going to do some reading about what options I have for mounting that connector.

Edit: The only labor I had to pay for the tech's time on the spring compressor for the front shocks/struts
