do you have any pictures inside the engine compartment? plumbing wise?

 

changing the air filter will be a pita with this setup

 

uh oh, that reminds me, i have an aftermarket k&n intake. i wonder if there's a way to be an in-line filter in somehow.

 

Hopefully i can use the existing piping with the intake i have and maybe put this in somehow.

I'm excited to install mine once I receive it after seeing @inesshell install. I'm going to attempt to plumb it into my existing k&n intake. Might have to get creative.

 

will be easy to plumb it into your intake, thats what the existing arb ones do, the fit on mine is quite good but like everyone has stated, there is a small gap in front that can be filled with rtv or butyl if it bothers you

Ok, the snorkel is the only thing I'm waiting on now. Shipped a couple days ago from China. I've got the rest of the pieces I think I will need to, hopefully. I hate getting into a project and then realizing you're missing something causing the project to be put on hold. Here's my idea... since I have a K&N intake already, I'm going to try and cut it down and eliminate the s curve in it, leaving enough room to stick a coupler on before the MAF sensor. I will attach this part of the intake directly to the throttle body and then attach the inline air filter I have to the other end. I will use some 3" tubing to make up any gaps to the snorkel. It looks as if the opening in the inner fender is in a straight line with the throttle body. So here's another question. The crank case breather hose that is running off the intake tube to the top of the crank case, can I eliminate that hose and stick a filter directly to the crank case vent port?? If I cut down the intake tube, the hose outlet on the intake will be eliminated. Here are a couple of pictures. Thanks for any help!!

Well... came home from work yesterday to a large package sitting on the back porch. Yes, the snorkel has arrived! Only took like 3-4 days, from China! The mail lady even left me a note saying she signed for the package so I wouldn't have to go to the post office to pick it up (work hours would make it hard to do so.) All of the intake plumbing is gathered. Friday is the planned install day! Whoo!

 

I'm about to do mine once I get the balls and/or drunk enough. I'm noticing some guys are going with the flexi tube rather than the mandrel and silicon tubes. Any real difference in performance? Seems easier to route but obviously not as rigid.

I'd also like to stay as low and close to the top of the wheel well to conserve space and hopefully have enough room to fab a bracket/plate for my arb twin compressor above it and then run the manifold on the other side of the ABS unit. Can anyone let me know if they think there is enough room above the tubes?
@inesshell or @adriancast maybe some thoughts?

I don't really want to relocate the washer reservoir and mount the compressor sideways. I guess I can always move the breaker/relay panel to the pass side and try the compressor by the stock fuse box area.

Anyway, any input, thoughts or advice is appreciated.

Btw, I found the same 167 kit that has the thicker plastic on alibaba for $87. I had to haggle with the lady but she finally caved. She thinks I'm coming back to place a bulk order once I inspect this one. Ha. Cheers

 

I have my manifold and twin compressor sideways with the sled mount and there is plenty of room, it sits very low to the fender. Much lower compared to stock airbox.

I use the pelfrey mount to mount my acr above the abs. Performance wise you won't be able to tell the difference since the limiting air factor here is still the 2" throttle body. Where it did make a.significance is the variance with ambient temps.

 

I'd like to know about this too. It looks like the plumbing parts included might work better??

 

you still need an elbow, those supplied is not long enough to reach the coupler

 

in addition, that 25 series might cost you more to mod, mine ran 115 alone for the 167 kit without the coupling and elbow

 

fitted an enginaire to mine

 

looks great man! I hope mine looks half as clean that yours does

 

measure lots and cut lol. a custom template that matches the shape of the snorkel and antennae notch helps...
