Tundra rack machined to be same length as stock. Lots of work involved to get it to fit, they only do in house install only. I got them to sell me one outright but I have their parts all over my truck.

Hey doods a little help please. Cv axle shafts. All the aftermarket sites (long travel parts) say they are only compatible with Oem parts.
In order to reduce downtime on my truck I wanted to buy aftermarket CV,s and have those joints put on the long travel shafts. Soo... Can I? Should I?
    Your thoughts... Thanks

Where are you finding aftermarket cv's? I want to build a spare with the axles I have but couldnt find anyone selling just the cv ends. I figured I would end up buying a stock replacement from Napa or something and just end up swapping the ends over.

    ...too much shit to list.
Don't do it. You'll end up with cast parts that break if you fart, different spline counts on the shafts, shitty boots, etc. Litterally aftermarket can be made however the vendor wants as long as it fits a stock truck. Seems fine until you break the cv apart and realize the expensive extended shafts you bought don't fit.

Don't do it, get OEM from a junkyard. @MonkeyProof broke one of his recently and came over to my place to see if one if my old CVJ remans would work, it didn't. The the star in the birfield was for a smaller diameter shaft. I was planning on using them as spares for rebuilding whenever I break mine but turns out I can't even use them for that.

Yeah I've only seen the whole axle. But based on what these guys are saying it's not a good idea. Gotta go oem

I just looked as I am getting ready to build axles for my new LT. You can buy from Toyota for about $300 a pop. Wouldn't call it cheap but considering you can get a new assembly and have your old ones for spare duty doesn't seem like a bad investment of cash. Nobody said this was cheap haha.

Anyone know if there was a truck totaled, (rolled apparently) recently with an all-pro +2 LT kit on it? Should be north east area. I found (what I believe to be) an all-pro +2 kit for sale out of a junk yard. Came off a totaled truck and I’m trying to find whoever owned the truck. I’m going to look at it this week to make sure nothing is bent before taking it home.

I went down that route a few years ago with replacingthe a bad inner CV. Axle shaft was fine but the inner CV took a shit. Absolutely none of the local after market Inner cv's that I was scalping off of a replacement axle would fit the OEM axle. Different spline, different diameter shaft. As long as the inner and the outer fit the housing and the hub, what's between those 2 doesn't mean shit to these companies. not interchangeable.

I am certain in the 3459 pages this has been discussed before so sorry for re-asking. But are these all OEM rebuilds or something?

im on one OEM and one aftermarket reman. I went through two different CVs to find out the shafts arent the same size. But the reman CV axle was right on the money and i replaced the boots anyway.

knock on wood but no problems yet.

To add to this. Be careful when you buy from a junk yard, the first one he brought out was after market not oem. I told him i wanted oem so he went snd grabed another one.
