Anybody move their side steps from a 2014 to a 2016? Considering purchasing some N-Fab nerf steps that were on a 14 double cab to put on my 16 double cab. Nervous they won’t fit and don’t wanna drill new holes, etc.

    Bone Stock, for now
Picked my truck up a few weeks ago, having traded my 2nd Gen SW DCSB OR 6MT for a 3rd Gen SW DCSB OR 6MT - What can I say, I loved my old truck, had no interest in changing :) No plans to lift the truck at all right now. I love the way the truck handles and drives and don't need the tire clearance so for now, I'm just leaving it as is. I love the look the FN Wheels gave it by moving the wheels outward a bit with the offset difference but otherwise, I'm just enjoying the heck out of it. It took some getting used to since it drives so wildly different from the 2nd Gen, especially with power delivery, but overall I couldn't be happier.

It's been a super busy year and so I haven't had a chance to contribute much on the forum, but I'll start off with my build and the short story behind it. I purchased the truck in Feb 2017, but spent 2 months prior on the forum reading post after post. So I thank you guys for all your reviews, opinions, and general comments. It really help me in my build. Within the first month, I had a fairly good idea what my intent was for my rig. Which was and will be a novice weekend trail goer. I just don't have the time at the moment and don't foresee it changing anytime soon. So I didn't go all out and didn't see the need for it. Anyway, here is what I ended up with a 2017 TRD Sport DCLB with the premium and tech packages.

Being slightly mechanically and electrically inclined, I (with help of friends) did all the work.
    1. Front Lift - Fox Stage 3 Extended Travel Coil Over Lift Kit w/ Camburg UCA 1.25" - In addition to the factory lift height of 1", I brought up the driver side 1" and passenger side 7/8" to compensate for the taco lean. Thanks to Marie at HeadStrong Off-Road for the great customer service.
    2. Rear Lift - Wheelers AAL 1.5"
    3. Wheels - I orignally got the SCS Performance SR8 Wheels in Matte Bronze because I was too slow with the mouse and keyboard, but I eventually had the opportunity to get the Ray 10's in Matte Bronze
    4. Tires - BF Goodrich AT KO2 285/70R17
    5. TRD Pro Shift Knob
    6. Upgraded Rear View Mirror to a Gentex with HomeLink
    7. TRD Skid Plate
    8. TRD Pro Grill
    9. RCI Rock Sliders - Painted myself with rattle cans. Made sense at the time, but in hindsight, I should have powder-coated them instead.
    10. Bed Stiffners - Thanks to ATH Fabrication
    11. ECT Mod - Thanks to @mesojdm for the circuit he designed and shared.
    12. Bed Cubby Covers - Thanks to @micwillia for the waterproofing system (it's been a life saver).
    13. Anytime Rear View Camera - Thanks to Brendan for the circuit he built.
    14. Bakflip MX4 Tonneau Cover
    15. Head Lights - Morimoto 35W HID
    16. Fog Lights - Morimoto XB LED
If you have questions, feel free to ask and I will gladly respond. I've really enjoyed the whole build process and the Toyota community. I'm sure I'm not done with the build, so I'll be asking questions, learning, and trying to contribute. Thank you!

Got the Ray10 Wheels and switched it up with the SR5 grill:

Finally got a decent deal/trade on the Pro grill:

Am I missing something? I don't see any TRD emblem on the tailgate.

Got a TRD OR longbed about a month ago as an upgrade from the 2003 i had that i totaled.
So far i have changed out the chrome grill with the pro one which im looking to sell along with my chrome running boards. future upgrades will be the predator tube steps and possibly the trd intake, but it seems like a waste of money from what ive been reading on this site.

i have a question for everyone, im not sure if the dealer sold me the truck with the trd exhaust or just the exhaust tip, anyway to tell them apart(stock exhaust vs trd exhaust, im aware of the actual tip)?20170927_175208.jpg

Easiest Tell is the exhaust tip. TRD Pro exhaust has a "TRD" stamped in horizontally and facing the rear, and the tip on the system is welded, oval in shape. Any Air intake is a money grab imo, TRD version is $380+ on Amazon and they are just using the name to sell it. I'm hoping someone wastes money developing a supercharger for the 3.5 (Maybe URD?). Its amazing how much these new engines are getting chocked out with emissions rules (small displacement etc.), where on paper the numbers are better, but when it comes to moving the vehicle around, it feels nothing like the old bulletproof 4.0 in the second gen. That motor was way ahead of its time when it was released as far as overall usability, and still stacks up to engines getting dropped in today both in Toyota and everything else for that matter. Anyone who says anything different hasn't drove one.

It's been a long time coming. I've had her for 9 days and she currently has 300miles on her. Mods will have to come slowly and down the road but eventually I'll get around to it. Loving everything about this vehicle.

Just picked up my first 17 OR Taco two weeks ago. Only changes I've done is the TRD grille and some detail tweaks. I'm absolutely in love with this truck! I sold off my 04 Runner to get this, wanted a MT but could not find anything in the area. I think the first real big thing i'll do is change out all the stock speakers and maybe drop an amp. I'm pretty new to the community and really look forward to learning more from all you great peeps!
