I can't imagine it was a popular combo, but it's a four banger with an automatic. A nice old man truck

Oh yah, just put it out of its misery, the 4cyl and auto combination is a test of patience. I couldn't stand it, with a manual it feels great and plenty zippy with the automatic it's like waiting for porn on dialup.

Do you think it would be a tough sell around the $2200 mark after I harvest the minty bed and put my meh one back it it? I've looked at buying another bed on car-part but shipping can get pretty expensive and a grade A bed with a gate is about $1500-2000 before shipping

Nah, auto or not 4cyl Toys are easy to sell, people equate Toyota 4cyls with reliability. Especially older folks, even with a beat up bed if the rest is nice and decently clean, runs okay, and miles are below 200k it should sell for above 3k easy.

I agree, just not the easiest thing to check without taking it to someone with a special tool to measure it.

And thanks, she's daily, work truck, and trail rig all in one. Makes for an interesting vehicle.

I can imagine. I had a hard enough time finding a color-matched one for my 5' bed. Might be a regional thing though because another member, in another part of the country, reported seeing a lot of short bed caps but not a lot for regular beds. I had the opposite experience.

$300 is a steal as far as I'm concerned. I had to drive ~220 miles to get mine and I paid a premium for it. Got a nice BedRug with it, so I guess that counts for something. Happy with both.

I agree. If the ball pulls out of the socket it is definitely neglected maintenance.

150K is right around the corner for me. Repacking the wheel bearings in on the 150K maintenance to-do list. Might have to "pay the man" for that one.
