I happen to mention prices in passing and my wife still has a better tally of my taco expenditures.

I feel like she's going to slow me down when it comes to bumpers. Given they're probably close to $7k all in.

Get some built. Probably be cheaper than shipping + import.

    That's funny.
That set up sure came in handy when I flooded my truck though.
I know the feeling. Everytime I want to reach a meet she reminds me not to go swimming.

I want the airbag rating. Makes a big difference for insurance purposes. and I love the look of the ARB, and I'd be buying local.

its just rear that would be a problem.

besides shipping isn't bad within US so I just drive down to niagara

Why is it that I think these exact same things. I want the airbag rating. If I hit a deer on a back road, I want that ARB that is designed to toss it under the truck.

omg I have gone back and forth so many times, wife wants to slap my mouth when I talk about front bumper.

UGH @Joe23 YOU BASTARD. I was over this until you made me realize it again. ARB front.

I am dead set on the ARB.
its the only one for the 3rd gens I like. only one with airbag rating. and the only one that actually greatly increases approach angle. Although it sticks out a little more than some of the others the portion that sticks out is so much higher up it doesn't matter.

How much does this affect your rate? Or how much more a month with them knowing etc.
I thought this is one other nice one. Decent price, although ARB is beautiful

de-badged, tint front windows, led interior lights, door sill protectors, led b/up lights, 5" factory step rails, yellow turn signal bulbs, added 4 D ring tie downs. Took off the black vinyl stripes between the doors. Changed the grill - from Custom Car Grills, Finally got a tonneau cover put on. 31" light bar ( white & amber ), tailgate light bar, sunvisor covers ( to hide warning labels ), new bedside decals - still too cold to put them on tho. Flag decals to go on too, again too cold still. Got a 2 switch, switch plate to replace that useless cubby hole to the left of the steering wheel.. still to be installed ( hopefully this weekend ). Upgraded the tires to G/Y Duratracs... loving them, no plowing the driveway !!
I have always been told to put new tires on the front, esp with winter coming, new tires on front so you can steer better.

not fond of that one. and likely not rated.

and dont know yet will have to let you know after its all said and done. Broker just emailed saying she needs receipts of parts and proof of install from mechanic. then she can get a rate from aviva for me.
Aviva is based on extra coverage from what I understand. increments of $5k. Back in january when I got the truck and talked to her it was around $300 a year more for $5k coverage. But not sure if its $300/$5k. I'll be adding 10k coverage most likely. Figure that way covers my lift and most of my armour.

That's if I want coverage for parts. I can also just have insurance be aware of the mods so that way they can't deny me coverage if something happened. Which when you have mods they could do. I don't think armour would count since it just bolts on and its not really an altering part just protection. But anything that can alter the ride and have them point to as cause.

say you T bone a little car and the driver dies, they could say the driver wouldn't have died if your truck wasn't as high up point to the lift and deny coverage. When I talked to my broker she did actually verify yes they could do so. Although unlikely unless it was clearly something because of a mod. But rather not take that chance. Its one thing for damages to property its another for loss of life. Having someone come after you for medical bills etc can be life changing.

    maybe for a FWD car.

I'd argue that and I had a tire shop tell me its better to have a new tire in the rear. when i got a flat a few years ago on my snows they told me put the new one on the rear where the damaged tire was anyways.

But when I had the spare on they advised it would be better to move that to the front and keep a winter tire in the rear.

Although the steering is important, better traction in the rear means less tail happy which I think is a little safer

Anyone interested in a Napier truck tent? Model no 57044. Fits the long bed taco perfectly. I've got an RTT now so no longer need.

Peter is stopping by today so he could prob TW express it up to the Ardbeg meet. I'm going to put it on kijiji for 200 if no interest here. Let me know.

Out of curiosity, how well do they stand against rain, doesn't water get into bed and then under the tent? I see that the tent doesn't cover bed sides.
