Had Stone's new Vengeful Spirit (I think that's what it's called) with lunch today. Pretty good, tropically IPA.

Actually thought this one was really good. The last citra hop I had was just too bitter. This one was very light tasting

Cleaned house at the local shop...

Grabbed their last 2 Terrapin White Chocolate MooHoo Milk Stouts, their last Evil Twin Mexican Biscotti Cake Break, and a 4'er of Weyerbacher Sunday Molé Stout.

    IMG_9349.jpg

Just cracked the Sunday Molé Stout... Not super crazy about it. Smelled really good, lots of great coffee and coccoa. But I don't get a lot on the taste though. Opens up with some of the pepper heat, but I'm not tasting much cinnamon. And a little smokey on the backend. It does do a great job of hiding the 11% abv!

    Nice! How is it?

I have a Belgian Saison with a pound of acidulated malt in the grain bill still in the fermenter. It spent several days early this week outside in 30+ Celsius weather for some extra heat

Might be my best sour yet. The fruit is pronounced with a great acidic bite and that color.
I love me some saison, what yeast did you use? I do the same with a good amount of acid malt tossed in at mash out with my saisons.

This is only my second attempt at a Saison. My first the ferment stalled and I panicked and added a packet of US04. Still turned out okay, but not a Saison.

Nice! 3724 is my go to but it can be a bitch. Mash low low at 146 for 90 mins with ramped up temps during fermentation and enjoy the results!

I did mash for a long time and checked for conversion with iodine. Not quite that low though. Once this batch has been bottled and tasted I will make the next tweaks and do it again.

Member IPA? - West Coast IPA. This has become my new favorite IPA. @DrFunker this is in a crowler headed your way. Enjoy it. It's so refreshing and crisp. Sad they weren't doing fills of it tonight.

Did you come down just for Treehouse or did you do other stuff in the area? Where are you located?

I live a couple of hours north of Albany. I was in Nashua for work from Wednesday afternoon until Friday afternoon, so I stopped at Treehouse on the way on Wednesday. It was a little out of the way for me, but I don't really have a reason to go through central Mass too often.
